I think the Cardinals might have a chance at the World Series again this year. The Old Rock House Saloon would be a great place to swig a few beers while watching it, too..

This place could learn a thing or two about Search Engine Optimization. Try googling this place and you'll never find their website. Only this thread.

I just did a search and it was the 3rd site on the page. Of course, the site just directs to a calender.

They are currently working on a new design to the website and when it's built all the search engine optimizations will be addressed.

what was your secret, sensei? here's my search query which seems pretty common and it didn't fare so well...

http://www.google.com/search?q=old+rock ... bar+saloon

On a related note, what in the heck is a Bar and Saloon? Aren't they the same thing?

I just searched "Old Rock House"

If you add anything to that you won't get the site.

This place is amazing. Went to see Dr. Z there lastn weekend. It is like a real nightspot in a real, bustling city. Not to mention, I have never seen so many extremly attractive women in one spot......

From Mayor Slay's blog:

The $2.2 million expansion of the Old Rock House restaurant and entertainment venue on Seventh Street into the Henderson salvage yard is now moving forward. It is expected that the salvage yard property will require significant amounts of environmental cleanup. The completed project is expected to result in 30 – 60 new jobs.

I hear that Opal isn't being to cooperative with regards to vacating the property though...

^This is one of few cases where a parking lot is a better use than the eyesore that is there now.

Did the salvage yard owner finally agree to sell, or is this another case of a private property owner being forced to sell for the benefit of another private business?

Sure, junk yards are ugly, but we've got to protect the rights of private property owners. Don't kid yourself; your home or business could be next.

Any news on the back lot and outside stage?

The removal of the junkyard has surely helped with that area.

This sounds like an interesting concept (as reported in the PD):
The Old Rock House is launching its "Listening Room Series," in which select concerts will be showcased cabaret-style for an even more intimate experience.

The Listening Room Series will feature 80 reserved VIP seats near the stage. These concert-goers will receive a private entrance, cabaret-style seating around tables, expanding dining and drinking options and a VIP hostess.

There will also be 180 general admission tickets for each performance in the series.Old Rock House co-owner Tim Weber says "At their core, concert halls are gathering places. People don't just watch a band -- they share an experience. Our job as concert promoters is to create the best possible environment to let that experience happen, and this special series is our attempt at doing just that."
