Alberici owns their own steel fabricator, so prices would have been set well before they submitted their bid. And in any case, they'd just be paying themselves.dredger wrote: ↑May 11, 2021I wonder if the owners dodged a bullet on steel prices? They have must have been locked in early last year or this project would probably have seen another big round of value engineering.

^Heh! That's a nice way to keep your costs down. Vertical integration for the win!

^That pic right there says it all. The dynamism and excitement that the aquarium and the soccer club together can bring to that end of Market will be amazing. I hope. I pray. I want. Looks fan-frigging-tastic!
The P-D comments section is exactly the "downtown sucks and I know this even though I haven't been there in years" and "crime, crime, crime" crap I expected.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Jun 02, 2021Lots of pics in the PD:

^ The comment section on the PD is mostly just a bunch of ignorant, suburban rubes, really. I’m pretty good at avoiding them, but sometimes I get sucked in. Last one for me was the article about Spark opening at BPV. All the same bullsh*t on that one too.
Anyway...
Some more PD reporting on the stadium and the team’s delay until 2023. More comments from Garber too:

Yep, get some mixed use, mid rise residential and small office development on the surface lots in the picture. Especially the space between Union Station and the new practice fields. Would fill in nicely.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Jun 03, 2021^That pic right there says it all. Anyone have any good shots of the Market Street façade (I can't open the PD link)?
LHM owns those lots. I would expect an expansion of the urban family festival activities with additional attractions, rides and a multi-level garage.dredger wrote: ↑Jun 03, 2021Yep, get some mixed use, mid rise residential and small office development on the surface lots in the picture. ^Depending on how they're planning I could see them deciding to sell or develop some of those lots for non-core uses so long as they believe those uses will drive people through their doors. But LHM owning them doesn't sound terrible if you asked me. More attractions would be great. Just . . . let's get people there and not cars.
^ Whoops, looks like you are posting updates now, didn't mean to steal your scoop
Oh no. You're good. I haven't shared the video flying around inside the stadium on this thread yet. For whatever reason though, no preview for the video loads in your original post unless I quote it. There's a lot of photos and videos that I don't post for numerous reasons, biggest being that some could cause conversations about if I was trespassing or not (both at the MLS Stadium here and 1400 Baltimore in KC).pdm_ad wrote: ↑Jun 07, 2021^ Whoops, looks like you are posting updates now, didn't mean to steal your scoop
The bolded CITY stuff just feels cheesy to me now. I'm not sure why.
It's like the majority cross section of our stroller-slinging Tower Grove South subreddit infiltrated the ownership group or something.

Like they want the other side to say “NOT COUNTY” on the other side?/jkbwcrow1s wrote: ↑Jun 11, 2021It's like the majority cross section of our stroller-slinging Tower Grove South subreddit infiltrated the ownership group or something.
Seriously though I’d like them to put ST. LOUIS or STL on the other side.
Please no. Leave the Starbucks naming rights in the Northwest.dweebe wrote:

My guess would be Ronnoco Coffee. It will definitely be a local brand.

O’Connor’s Stadium…hmmm…no way they have deep enough pockets for a stadium deal.stladvocate wrote:My guess would be Ronnoco Coffee. It will definitely be a local brand.

Square just makes the most sense to me. They're moving to Downtown and the Stadium is close enough to a square as-is. So name it something like "Square Stadium". The Square Logo already partially resembles the stadium being built.

^100% Agreed. It's damn near perfect for Square; if there's ever a stadium for them to affiliate their brand, this one is absolutely it.
I'm not opposed to the Starbucks Stadium idea... but they better not have any GDMF "Pumpkin Spice Stadium" crap. Hate that stuff.
(scared myself writing that)
