I'm not so sure if Richmond Heights should be building all this retail space now. With I-64 construction, now shouldn't be the time to build. Now the hotels, on the other hand are great. That area has a big shortage of hotels and could certainly use some. I wish they would start construction soon!!!
It's nice to see the density along the new metro line around here increasing. i was fairly surprised when i drove by the hanley walmart and saw the new condos and parking garages that sprung up so quickly.
Can't find the thread for this but saw that several construction trucks and materials have been moved onto the site. Looks like they are prepping for sewage/etc work.
It's the corner site next to University Tower. I think a hotel and some retail were proposed for the site but then a bunch of stalls happened. It appears that it might be back on track.
Starwood's Westin website lists The Westin Galleria Parkway Hotel as opening in April 2009.

Two buildings have been torn down and there are now signs from the Sansone group announcing opportunities for retail.
Hopefully the old Asian restaurant and the 40th mattress store on Brentwood that is next to it will be torn down soon. (apparently it is not)
Lastly, a crane has been partially erected on the corner construction site. I guess we can call it a "semi".

Anyone know the ETA of the street improvements to Brentwood? Obviously they are waiting until after Hwy. 40 construction is done, but with all of this new retail and hotels, that is a long time to wait to make this area at least ostensibly pedestrian-friendly. I hope they can find a way to start sooner.
I believe the mattress store and old asian restaraunt are not part of the development plan. In other words, will stay in the upright position. Hopefully I'm wrong on what I just stated.
Tower crane is up, looks like this project is getting ready to kick into full gear.

I'm confused. Is the Main & Main project located at Grand and Gravois, Page and Kingshighway, Tucker and Market, Broadway and Olive, Grand and Lindell or Natural Bridge and Grand?
^I think it is Main Street Chesterfield and Main Street St. Peters, or Chesterfield Valley Road and Zumbehl Road, if you prefer.

More like Main Street before Brown vs. Board of Education.

Brentwood & Clayton
The name of this development is "University Village" and the hotel will be a Homewood Suites (I'm pretty sure that's what I read).
There are signs up on the construction site. They appear to be making good progress despite the bad weather.

Lionstone, Sansone and Equis Start $150M MXD

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, MO-A joint venture of the Lionstone Group, Sansone Group and Equis Hospitality Management LLC will break ground today on a $150-million, mixed-use development here at the corner of Brentwood Boulevard and Galleria Parkway. The new development, that will incorporate the existing 273,000-sf University Club Tower office building, will include 40,000-sf retail, an 8,000-sf restaurant, a 158-room Homewood Suites by Hilton and a 243-room Westin Hotel.
Michael Mullenix, chairman and CEO of the Equis firm, tells GlobeSt.com that this property, in the Clayton submarket, is an infill location that was very difficult to get developed. “We had two other companies before us attempt development on this site, and were not successful,” Mullenix says. “The key to our site for the hotel was that we could share the parking burden with Lionstone, which has office building. There was no way we could have worked the parking requirements for each development without doing this, the office needs spaces during the day and the hotel has the use at night.” The development plans include two parking garages to hold up to 663 cars.

I really wish there was a covered walkway connecting the two hotels to the UC tower then to the Boulvard where it Ts--one over the highway to the Metro Station, the other to the Gallaria.
It may look like a habitrail, but it's not real visitor-friendly there.

Sansone has a decent flyer on the University Village Development. Wonder when they decided to rename it? Does fit a lot better then the original name used.

I think some future office space would fit well into this development (finish off the remaining stores left standing) and at the end of Phase II of the Boulevard development.

^Interesting: They list D I C K's Sporting Goods as nearby retail. Did I miss an announcement or did Sansone jump the gun?
They also refer to the two hotels as a Westin and a Hilton. I thought the smaller one was going to be a Residence Inn...

From what I can tell, they are having problems getting all of the U Club Tower leased. No point in building more if they can't handle what the already have. Maybe far down the road it would be a good idea, but it doesn't seem like such a great thought right now.

There is already a Residence Inn on the eastern side of I-170
A while back the manager at the Dick's at West County mall told me that they were going to be opening in the next phase of the Boulevard...

Supposedly in the Phase III part furthest to the south.
