Old Country Buffet hasn't existed for more than a year.

Maybe the food got too good? :)

For what it's worth, I've never found a nice buffet in Las Vegas either. I can't remember ever finding a premium quality buffet.....well maybe that Indian place in Toronto.

I've always wanted to dine at a fine churrascaria (I consider them to be a form of buffet.) There's a churrascaria in West County somewhere, isn't there? Not sure how it rates. Fogo de Chao is supposed to be the leading churrascaria chain...

Just visited Harrah's Resort and Casino in Atlantic City and the buffet and foodcourt places both were aweful.

I found Lumiere's "Kitchen" Buffet restaurant good - but not great and I let them know in an email - which all of you should do too --- please!

This evening the Four Seasons tower was lite in cobalt blue on the outside and was beautiful... first time I have seen it in this color! They need to change it more frequently I think!

Is that good, or bad?

Wife and I stayed at the 4 seasons last weekend for our anniversary. A bit pricey but the best service I have ever had (I don't stay in 5 diamond hotels often) Food was fantastic, room was immaculate, nicely designed. 42" flat screen with $17 ppv movies (standard movies, not the adult kind). The coolest thing was the embeded bathroom mirror television. The view to the north was great as long as you look a few 100 yards past the gravel lots, Econo Lodge, and the power substation.

The one odd thing about the Four Seasons is the elevator setup. There's no way to get from the ground floor/casino/parking garage without switching from one bank of elevators to another. The one bank of elevators service levels 1 through 8 and the other bank services levels 6 and up. Rooms are on levels 9 and up.

Aside from the elevators, it has to be the nicest place I've ever stayed.

I think the reason they do that is to prevent Casino "patrons" from wandering too far.... Not to mention Floors 1-5 are the parking garage, 6-8 is banquet halls, Spa, and restaurant. So there is a lot of traffic on the 1st 8 floors that services the general public. So it frees up elevator traffic for hotel guests just wanting to move about the hotel, and leaves more space for extra rooms that a 2nd elevator shaft would prevent

I totally understand as the "hotel only" elevators were very quick to arrive. But it was still a hassle to take stuff from our car in the parking garage to the room because of having to switch elevators. Plus you already had to use your room key in the elevator to access levels 8 and up.

To reiterate what 1000 said, if Lumiere wants to be the most high end casino in town, they should work on improving the quality in the kitchen. The food is generally a major reflection on the quality of the casino. Who cares about a comped buffet if the food isn't worth eating?

I ate at the Lumiere buffet once and have never returned. The food at the Casino Queen buffet is better, cheaper and offers a wider selection.

Again, I was shocked that "upscale" meant bland, cold dishes. I was not shocked that "upscale" meant Lumiere was charging $18 for a cafeteria experience.

The Buffet could certainly use some work. Sleek and Burger Bar are hit or miss (very inconsistant), Asia is good, but house of Savoy and Cielo are quite excellent in my opinion.

Burger Bar and Asia have been good the times we have been. We haven't had the chance to try Sleek or House of Savoy

Last night it was radiating through the colors of the spectrum... looked really cool. A few nights ago they had some strobe effects going on, each individual panel was blinking from red to green.... sort of an epileptics nightmare though.

Are you thinking of Bacana Brazil in Chesterfield?

Went there a few months back. I found the food to be really sub-par, the meat wasn't great quality, and they were very stingy with how often they came around to give it to you. I found the meat lacked seasoning and wasn't cooked very well, either. When you have to wait 10+ minutes between your small servings of under-seasoned meat, you quickly get frustrated with the experience.

The sides bar wasn't that good, either. I did find a Brazilian stew that was fantastic, but filling up on the sides isn't the point at a place like this.

It was not a good value, either. Despite the higher price, I would gladly pay much more if the experience were worth it.

I would love to see a good Brazilian steakhouse come in downtown.

Yeah I think we are definitely going to see some more development on the northern riverfront especially since we don't have that stupid loss limit anymore (now all we have to do is get rid of that stupid casino limit and I think they will lobby for that in a few years when).

Honestly, I think that pinnacle is trying to make this area somewhat of a destination. That is why they built the four seasons right? Connection to convention center and planned residential and retail.

With the ferris wheel coming this year and other developments planned in the future the northern riverfront really has potential.
