I was still holding out hope that commerce would commit to downtown.
I assumed the day that Commerce committed to this project was the day that developers secured financing and when the others committed it secured financing for second tower.framer wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2020I was still holding out hope that commerce would commit to downtown.
Still hoping some large corporation on either coasts see 909 Chestnut as an opportunity to decentralize some of their back office operations as well as the opportunity to put people in a less dense office situation considering how much space is available at a much much lower price point whether it be NY, Boston, San Fran and or even Chicago or for that matter, Forsyth Pointe. Wishfull thinking and lala land mentality but maybe TikTok partial sale will go through and they see St. Louis as an opportunity to put x jobs that they have talking about. My employer COO is finally admitting that stay at home workers are simply not as productive for the company as a whole. I think some larger companies will have to rethink and doubling down on high priced real estate is not a good business plan.
It's nothing new, but Forsyth continues to consolidate its position as the premier corporate / commercial real estate street in St. Louis.
Quite the who's who of St. Louis power players along its less than a mile: Centene, Commerce Bank, Central Bank, Armstrong Teasdale, Husch Blackwell, Stinson, Dowd Bennett, Belden, Barry-Wehmiller, Benjamin F. Edwards, Apex Oil, the Zoo Museum District, the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, among others.

(Accidentally clicked/posted on the Centene thread earlier)
There was apparently an accident on the construction site this morning. Some formwork collapsed and a worker fell from it and was injured. No word on his or her condition.

Looks like US Capital will be doing monthly drone videos of the site. This one is from September.

Slightly updated rendering. Commerce Bank Tower - 8001 Forysth.
The first floor columns are mostly poured now. This should start moving upward quickly.

They are pouring the garage podium roof/greenspace level now. The "towers", or throne arms, if you will, shall continue to rise on each end going forward:

Forsyth Pointe is finally reaching the tower construction phase. That podium took FOREVER to assemble! The eastern tower is rising first it seems. This will be a fun race to the sky to watch!
