Oh Wendy's, there are literally thousands of fast food joints where I should eat instead, but I am 72 percent sure that I love you.

Sorry, though, that I didn't get the chance to ask one of the dudes what's going in there.
Downtown Wendy's will reopen as a Hardee's/Red Burrito

One of the 51 Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburger restaurants that closed last year in the metropolitan area will reopen next month in downtown St. Louis, but it will be converted to a Hardee's.
The Hardee's-to-be is located at 601 Chestnut Street, near Busch Stadium, and the chain hopes to open it by April 1, the date of the Cardinals' home opener.
The restaurant, with 3,584 square feet, will be dual branded as Hardee's and Red Burrito and will employ 40 to 50 employees. The store tentatively is scheduled to be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
St. Louis-based Hardee's looked at other Wendy's locations, but as of now is interested only in the downtown spot, a spokesman said. The chain is a subsidiary of CKE Restaurants Inc. of Carpinteria, Calif., which also owns Carl's Jr. restaurants.
The Chestnut Street site became available when WenAmerica of Chesterfield, which operated Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburger restaurants in eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois, went bankrupt. Wendy's International of Dublin, Ohio, yanked the franchise agreement and the 51 restaurants were closed, causing almost 1,000 employees to lose their jobs.
It is unclear what caused WenAmerica's financial problems, and the bankruptcy trustee appointed in the case has hired an accountant to investigate its bank records. Assets from the operation are being liquidated, and leased property has been returned to landlords.
Wendy's International did not return calls seeking information about its restaurants in the St. Louis area.

Everyone forgets the one on Tucker. But it's north of the magic line that's Washington Ave so people get skittish.
A McD somewhere in the CBD or south side of downtown would be nice.

When I was a kid, there actually was a McDonald Land cop - Big Mac. He was Mayor McCheese's righthand man and wasn't afraid to crack some skulls when necessary. Never did catch Hamburglar though.

Maybe the SLPD should hire him then. He may not have caught the hamburglar, but at least he stopped him from stealing Ronald McDonald's car from getting jacked.
