^I take it that was the direct predecessor to the god-awful strip mall? Demo pictures around this town can make you cry.
The bus stop is missing on Waterman. Hello, TOD? This stuff is infuriating!
Then there's the missing crosswalk on the north side of Pershing at DeBaliviere that is still missing.
lol guess Heather Navarro's environmental studies degree didn't count for much.
Expo is in the STL Construction News and Review.

Does anyone else fine the magazine pages on a website presentation super frustrating to read?

I love the way it looks from the front of the MO History Museum. Coming along nicely.
Looking out towards the north from the steps of the History Museum makes me want to cry tears of joy.jacob_rb_15 wrote: ↑Aug 21, 2022I love the way it looks from the front of the MO History Museum. Coming along nicely.
The Lux v Expo lawsuit is scheduled for a bench trial Dec 12-15, 2022.

That’s incredible. I really want to get a tour of this building. I’ve been told it is a very bike friendly building.sc4mayor wrote:Expo Opens with More than 45 Percent of Residents Going Carless

I didn't see any movement on the Fields Foods. Anyone else see any evidence of work occuring?

There’s work going on. They’re framing it out right now. I’d guess a winter opening at this rate.quincunx wrote:I didn't see any movement on the Fields Foods. Anyone else see any evidence of work occuring?

Fields Foods put up a coming soon sign, today. Maybe they read UrbanSTL and realized they should advertise it.

This is going to be such a cash cow for Fields if done even halfway right. I just left DP and there's so much money there right now from WashU grad students it's ridiculous. Lindell Schnucks, Straubs, and Whole Foods might take a small hit, but overall major positive.SeattleNative wrote:

Agreed. It sounds like their Dogtown location has been going well, and this is an identical concept. Bodes well. Neighborhood grocer with good hot food options will be a hit. Fills a nice niche in the neighborhood. Will also serve as a nice draw for other retailers to move into the bays.Suds wrote:This is going to be such a cash cow for Fields if done even halfway right. Sidewalks are open! I glad to see they reconnected the alley behind the south side of 5700 DeGiverville. Absolutely stupid to make the trash truck driver backup 1000 feet down the alley. The crosswalk on the north side of Pershing and DeBaliviere is glaringly missing.

On the subject of Debaliviere sidewalks, it's abominable what Metro has done to limit access to the Metrolink station.
Good write up...
http://www.metrowiremedia.com/stlnews/e ... next-level...Leasing rates during the first nine weeks have surpassed expectations, with 72 leases signed, and only 36 (50 percent) of those residents have a car...
...“Since even before the 1904 World’s Fair, the Skinker-DeBaliviere Neighborhood developed as a dense, diverse residential community along the former Wabash Rail Line,” said Fuoss. “This new transit-oriented development designed to accommodate nearly every mode of modern transportation will help create an active node of energy at the convergence of these transport pathways.”...
...“We have been working to break through with a true transit-oriented development, and here is one that we can hold up as an example nationally,” Roach said. “As we look to projects like the Expo, we can use them as an example of how we can create a foothold or a new future for the neighborhoods around our transit stops. We’re going to see an evolution around the neighborhood at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station.”
