I ate there this morning for breakfast. It was really good.

Breakfast is pastries, scones, yogurt, fruit etc. Lunch usually includes salads, soups, quiche and some sandwiches. They also have cookies, tarts, gelatos and other sweet throughout the day. The pastry chef came here from New York and is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute (Bobby Flay and Dave Lieberman are fellow alumni's). They have a full coffee bar, WiFi and are open 7 days a week so it’s a great place to stop by in the morning, there are always plenty of open meters right outside the door.
Had the "Monks blend" tea. Comes in a teapot with it's own filter
. IT was great. I have yet to try the pastries.
Took a quick tour of the shop attached to the tea room. Good stuff, but priced slightly higher than to my liking. I am not calling the prices unfair (quality of furniture is excellent).

It looks like a nice little coffee shop, too bad they close at 5 everyday
yeah. I do not get that. This is not an ideal lunch spot and I think they might get good business till 7.
Closed on 305 this morning; smooth process, no complaints. We'll move in after we have some painting done. I hope to get in soon to take advantage of the fitness room in the morning, and the rec room's pool table in the evening. It'll also be nice to move into a space more than double the size of our Terrace Lofts apartment right now, but the extra block and half walk to the office is gonna be rough

The fountains on the 2nd floor are indeed on, and add some nice ambience to the atriums, and the furniture should be added soon.

Do you Know if Ely will have a neon sign on the outside of the building?
Christin offered that the sign was approved by historics and production of this 42 ft tall neon is expected to begin in the next 2 weeks, and guesses 2 months of work.Downtown2007 wrote:When will it be up?
That's freakin huge
That gives me two months to get some blinds for my windows. I needed an excuse anyway ....

If you're in Ely, apparently Two Blind Guys already have all the window measurements as they've already worked with Orchard in the building, so I'm planning on talking with them directly. We like the 2-inch wooden blinds that match the color of the stained wood windows they had in the empty 605 model.
Saw the furniture at Eng. Living. It is expensive, but unique. All in all, youi get what you pay for. High quality stuff.
The tea room is good, but the hours are not practical for people who live there. I think it has the potential to attract a lot of people if they stay open till 7.
Glad to see Ely filling up. More foot traffic is good.

The tea room/coffee bar may close at 5:00pm but it opens at 7:00am Monday thru Saturday and 9:00am on Sundays. One of the few independent restaurants downtown open 7 days a week.

I had my walk through earlier this week and I wasnt that impressed with tcertain sections of the hardwood floors. It was beat up in spots with some cracks in a few spots. What did everyone else think of theirs?

Yea, our unit (316) was used as the freight elevator entrance, so understandably our floors have some noticeable blemishes.
Overall, that was part of the original deal of not paying a premium for hardwood floors - some may have blemishes, others may not. Luck of the draw, man. Did they sand and seal your floors when you did your walkthrough?
Once everything is sanded and stained, most blemished are hardly noticeable.

I really dont know and didnt ask that question. Where yours?

Mine have not been stained yet. I'm guessing if you didn't notice that your's had been, then they haven't done it yet. Have you seen the design models on Floor 6? They gave their floors sanded and stained, and they look noticeably better.

Are they going to sand and stain yours? Do you have to request this?
