Yea, there will be som glare for a few. I got glare coming in from the uplights in my old building. Plus, the lights bring bugs and if the effected residents don't have screens in their windows, forget about opening them. Catch 22. Cool sign for the street and building but possibly major hassle for a few residents.
BTW, What I mean is the section where there are no windows, not that one of the sides does not have windows. Anyway hopefully that will help those units.
The North facing, East corner of the building has a significant brick spacing without any Windows. This will also put the sign opposite (more or less) the Champagne bottle of WOW.
Now..... The top 3 floors of WOW are commercial only right? So... no glare from this new sign.

I think most places vary between 10 and 20 cents/square foot. My loft offers minimal amenities and is at 10 cents. Many of the new developments in the CBD/OPO have more amenities and are going at 20 cents.
I think the lighting looks great as well. The green interior is terrific too. They also added a door for the retail on the western half of the front of the building. Really coming along.
We had our walkthrough today, and the finishings look perfect. We found a few random things to be touched up (sanding, paint, or patching), finished (missing two outlets), or fixed (hot water's not yet running, and bathroom water isn't all flowing), but nothing that makes me panic yet; they plan full completion prior to another walkthrough we scheduled for a day before closing on June 7.
The rec room (hooray for the pool table I don't have to buy), fitness room, and roof deck look great, and the basement is ginormous - every unit gets an already built storage locker, and while they don't have the parking lines painted yet, it doesn't look like it'll involve dangerous navigation.
Of interesting note: English Living and the Tea Room are anticipating a June 1 opening. We checked out their space and they've made quick progress. Nothing is currently committed to the east half of the retail space, but I'm excited that we'll see the west retail space open and active prior to moving in.
I got a sneak peak at The London Tea Room last night and was very impressed, it will make a great addition to the western part of downtown. A nice place to pick up cup of coffee on your way to work or to hang out and read the morning papers. It may take them a few weeks to get fully up to speed with cakes and pastries but really looking forward to it. The opening of the home furnishing store is tomorrow, make sure you stop by on the loft tour this weekend.
Looks like the were really busting their hump on that parking lot to the east side of the building. Paving, striping, putting the gates in etc. All the spots up against the building were labeled "English Living". However all the other rows had yet to be labeled.
Will this lot be for all the businesses on the ground level or do any residents get a shot at them?

I was told it was essentially a compliment to metered street parking, likely with a pay-box for each spot, and wasn't intended for overnight parking.
Ely Walker residents either have a spot underground, one in a nearby parking garage, or pointers to nearby surface lots (one of which I believe is west of Terra Cotta). It's a shame that there's not enough space for everyone underground, but I suppose that's the tradeoff for a large building population.
A crew appears to be finishing up the English Living furniture store.
The Tea Room has a menu in the Ely Walker lobby and a new street-front paper sign declares 7 AM opening, June 1st. If I don't stop by tomorrow morning before work, I'll be there for afternoon tea.
The tea room looks great. They even have a few British products like HobNobs, Ribena, PG Tea, any you can get the real Cadbury chocolate, which is much better than the American made Cadbury chocolate! It looks like they close early though. I bet they could do a good business in the evening.
Walked around the English Living. Overpriced but not as bad as I thought. Not my taste, but if my grandmother was alive she'd go crazy in the place.
Tea Room seemed to be doing good lunch business. BTW: I counted one dude and 11 or 12 female customers (all under the age of 35) spread throughout the place. Single guys: you've found your new lunch spot.
So what is slated for the eastern half of the first floor?

If they have Callard & Bowser's licorice, I'm there!
