They could easily open Clara @ Delmar if congestion is an issue.

They should have opened Waterman at DeBaliviere.

Congestion was an issue when DeBaliviere was closed. Hopefully they do open Clara, but that doesn't seem like the kind of step the city has been willing to take so far.

I agree with you about Waterman.

Seems that the closings are lasting longer than they did early on. I guess they saved the more complex track work (switches etc.) for last.

I noticed that myself. Skinker was only closed 12 days two puts two sets of tracks across, but they need three weeks for one line at Pershing. If I were being pessimistic I might think that the folks running the trolley construction care much more about the Loop than the DeBaliviere stretch.

Is this because it was done improperly in the first place, or because the streetcars being used changed, necessitating more room?

I wonder how much $$$ Operation Mirror Saver will add to the total bill. On a semi-related note, Detroit's streetcar line is in the testing phase, and it didn't go so smoothly...

QLine (Detroit) testing is off to a great start

^ like KC, things will take awhile before motorists and deliveries get the word -- and tickets and towing.

and while on streetcars, Cincy starts up next week I believe and KC continues to report super numbers

The KC streetcar (all 2 miles of it) will continue to do fantastic with ridership because it is FREE. period.

Wait! Seriously? I was about to write an article that was going to say that while extremely narrow, the space available for parking was still acceptable. Time to revisit the Loop and remeasure, I guess.

Lyda doesn't need mirrors getting clipped in front of a marquee residential tower project during her mayoral campaign?

Is the projected opening date still supposed to be this fall? Or closer to spring now?

^ So the way it was build was fine per engineering standards, but people complained and so a lot of money is being spent to do more work?

Operation Mirror Saver

All this for about a foot

PostSep 20, 2016#1147

Well, mill204 said there was just enough space. Dunno about standards. Maybe he can comment.

Anyone know what's going on along DeBaliviere between Lindell and Forest Park Parkway? Lots of dirt being moved on both sides of the street. Trolley station? Landscaping?

Landscaping. I have seen the layout of it. I can't remember where I saw it, it came out a couple months ago. They are redoing that area and adding walkways/landscaping.
