Not to get off subject however that's not a bad idea, there is actually a container village right outside Nationals Park in DC. It's my understanding that pop up retail was the idea of a local arts group, much better use of vacant land.

Hahaha yeah, he just talked about how important access to high speed rail for further economic growth is!

I love it.

Datak Tarr's son broadcasts a radio show from the top of the Arch in this week's episode: http://www.defiance.com/en/series/video/2644849

In tonight's episode, the miner's son makes a semi-connection between some hieroglyphs in "Old St. Louis" and the 1811-12 New Madrid quakes. Could they have something to do with the Arkfall 200 years later?! Dun-dun-dunnn... Keep those references coming, Defiance!

Oh, and because I'll always take the opportunity to link to this song -- even under the most tenuous of excuses -- here's the exceedingly replayable "New Madrid" by Uncle Tupelo.

Some pretty cool action went down at the top of the Arch in this week's episode.

Well, Defiance will be returning in a few months. I'm hoping this year they show more flashbacks to Old St. Louis. It would be sick if they made a TV movie based on the arrival of the votans and maybe showed some of the War of St. Louis. I know it's supposed to be a pretty big season. i like how last season they used an old train car as a diner. It might have even been a MetroLink car. It would also be bodacious if they made more references to the City somehow. Possibly re-use some of our neighborhoods' names. Maybe even throw in a Cardinals reference.

So the second season of Defiance is over -- delayed a year from the first season. Without giving anything away for people who have it taped, it looks like they left things set up for the possibility of renewal. But they also brought some things to a close for many story lines and characters in case this is it forever. It kind of looks like any new season would feature a different terraformed city -- probably Manhattan -- with the cast of characters who were leaving town at the end. But they didn't completely close the door on any of the main actors, but almost. In the last couple of episodes, they included Union Station underground, including the main hall. A future season will probably have some clips back in Defiance where the bordello still exists. And the Arch is still standing.

I think everyone was doing mixed drinks or drugs. And I didn't hear "Here Comes the King" once. Where was the AB product placement department? They should have shown all the old people guzzling Bud Light to show it became a healthy life extender.

Actually it would have been funny if Kraftig had done product placement.

I don't think they are going to Manhattan. It was destroyed. It has to take place in Defiance.

Uh, I think Defiance was largely destroyed -- it collapsed into the caverns below. Manhattan was "cleansed" and then terra-formed, not unlike the area around Defiance at the start of the series. I'm just going by what I thought I saw, I have no idea what they are planning at SyFy.

They said to Amanda in the show after Irisa bombed out Manhattan that "New York was destroyed." Amanda is from New York. They also said Old St. Louis was destroyed, but that was already underground.

Thanks for the explanation. That makes more sense. I'll watch the very end again.

The third season of Defiance started last Friday with a two-hour premier. Last night's episode ended with Datak getting orders to "blow up the St. Louis Arch". So I think I'll watch next Friday, at 7 PM. SciFi Channel.

so basically they're erasing all connections to St. Louis. first they buried "old st. louis" and now they're blowing up the arch.

They wil probably fail to blow up the Arch. It is the symbol of the series.

Ok, so they blew up most of the Arch. No radio station in the top anymore.
