Violence is so terrible in the country is because:

A. many Americans believe people who want reasonable gun control are out to get them
or
B. Many Americans think the police are out to get you.

I would say the most disturbing part, to me, about this crime issue is the fact that its occurring in what were considered "safer" parts of the City.

In the above case the victim was shot in a vehicle and the body dumped on DeTonty. Probably because that block is still pretty desolate.

According to our alderman, the person was shot on the 5500 block of lindell and dropped off at his girlfriends house, who lives on Detonty and the car he was in belonged to her as well, for what it's worth

Homicide happened in a car on 55xx Lindell, body gets dumped on DeTonty, car abandoned on S. Broadway, SWAT search for suspect on Iowa/Cherokee, and arrest made in Kentucky:

Folks are using guns to get justice they don't think they'll get using civilized society's court system. Do we need some kind of no-questions-asked "people's court" to resolve disputes outside of the expensive, slow, regular court system, that people might trust?

José Martín wrote:3. Restorative Justice

Also known as reparative or transformative justice, these models represent an alternative to courts and jails. From hippie communes to the IRA and anti-Apartheid South African guerrillas to even some U.S. cities like Philadelphia's experiment with community courts, spaces are created where accountability is understood as a community issue and the entire community, along with the so-called perpetrator and the victim of a given offense, try to restore and even transform everyone in the process. It has also been used uninterrupted by indigenous and Afro-descendant communities like San Basilio de Palenque in Colombia for centuries, and it remains perhaps the most widespread and far-reaching of the alternatives to the adversarial court system.

Would it be unconstitutional to, someday, require, by law, every gun to have 2 tiny TV cameras -- one pointed with the barrel, and the other at the holder -- both recording continuously whenever the gun is moving, and always saving the previously recorded 5 minutes of video whenever the gun is fired?

Assuming the technology already existed, I 100% guarantee you the earliest a measure like that has any chance of catching on in these United States of America is probably around the year 3050

I just want to say I grieve with the Hispanic family of Officer Ramos and the Asian family of Officer Liu. Brooklyn Heights and the people of Brooklyn Heights know. So very sorry and sad.

Edited to spell Mr. Liu's name correctly.

7/11 isn't the problem the problem are these ghetto thugs who don't care about life nor anyone else's if they'd been smart enough and stop blaming everyone else for there very own stupidity then maybe just maybe some of us would show some sympathy.. I'm all for instant death penalty .

PostDec 25, 2014#4674

And if no one doesn't like the word/term ghetto or thug oh well get over it they sure in the hell aint vibrant people who are making a difference to society..
