Just some of the 88 Metro areas with more crime per capita than St. Louis....
Sacramento, Philly, LA, Houston, Orlando, San Antonio, Kansas City, Tulsa, Nashville, Columbus, Miami, Detroit, Baltimore, Anchorage, Fresno, Las Vegas, Little Rock, Memphis and probably Chicago (but they don't report to the fbi).

agreed, Mario Coleman should hang.

I'm in favor of the death penalty but don't mind if it is seldom used, but this animal needs to go. There are a few area crimes that deserve hands down death: the guy who pushed the two girls off the Chain of Rock bridge. The ass who shot Lydia Krewson's husband in front of his children. etc. Keep the death penalty around for the uber scum, I say.

Same a-hole accomplished or attempted four pretty brazen robberies.

I'd like to see him get 25 yrs. for each one--thug is 32 now so that would mean he'd leave prison in a body bag, which is fine with me.

A commenter pointed out that their math is off. (1 - 113/144)* 100% = 21.5%. Where do they get 30%? Still a good trend of course.

City population decreased. Fewer targets.

Uneducated press release from STLPD?

Please excuse me, but that's a stupid comment. Even at face value, the city population decreased by 8% (over an entire decade & so we can assume it was something of a steady decline - we did not go from 356K in 2009 to 318K in 2010).

So, population may have decreased by 1% in the past year. It could have increased. Homicide dropped by 20+%. No matter your need to drop snark on the forum, please ground it in reality.

There are several unreported and less publicized instances of this and other similar situations like people intentionally speeding up to hit bicyclists, etc. All victims are being targeted because of their skin color.

Be careful out there.

And yes, the fact that some of these hate crimes are being referred to as a "game" is in indeed sickening. I mean, just sickening to the point of vomit.

I am surprised the judge dismissed tha case so quickly. Can they force the witness to show up and talk? Sounds like she has already identified them.

Times like this I actually wish we still had a mafia that could go and find these kids and "educate" them. My guess is they would never pull this crap again.

Follow-up story.

'Knockout' game victim enraged that young suspects walked free
Slay, who said he was "very disappointed and angry" about the case being dismissed, echoed O'Sullivan's sentiments.

"I feel for the young girl," Slay said. "I mean, clearly, she was intimidated (into) not testifying. We need to support witnesses like we support victims."

Slay added: "The police know who these thugs are. They know where they go to school, and they know where they live. Neither I nor the police are going to forget about this."

Matt Quain AGAIN approached by same attackers.

http://www.kmov.com/news/local/Knockout ... 45088.html

One piece of inhumane garbage claims 300 knockout game victims.

I'm licking my chops to be the next target because there will be some people dead as fried chicken on the sidewalk.

Too harsh? Well, go have a chat about it in the faculty lounge.

Agreed, not too harsh in the least. I pray that there are no more knockout attacks, but if there must be I also pray the next target they choose is packing and turns these punks into swiss cheese!

How is it that if Matt Quain recognizes some of his attackers it isn't enough to proceed with a prosecution?

Good question. The news stories have said that neither he, nor the Mayor/body guard, could ID them. This could get very ugly. There are many people who, rightly, want to see justice applied here. IMO - it's possible that they're increasing pressure on the suspects.

I'd be fine with some vigilante justice in this case.

New Microsoft GPS App helps users "avoid the ghetto." I wonder what it will say when users drive around, or simply approach St. Louis on the highway....
