As a recovering NBA junkie I will never understand why there is an NBA team in Memphis, why they are named the Grizzlies and why there is no team in Seattle. I guess FedEx? Also, what is the Dome good for now? It's apparently not suitable for football or basketball. It's barely suitable for conventions and maybe a concert or monster truck show a year. What are we going to do with this thing? Everything is so ***** up.
Don't need a history lesson about Vancouver moving to Memphis and just keeping the Grizzlies name or the Jazz going from Nola to Utah. It's just super annoying that Memphis has an NBA team. And I've been to games there. It's fine, but still super annoying.
Also, where's the heat on David Steward to "do something for the city"? Why does our multi billionaire seem to get a pass on "doing something for the city"? Because he's black? Wheres the heat?

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek presses NBA to keep Trail Blazers in Portland
Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek “spoke with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver last week” as part of her “full-court press to ensure the Trail Blazers do not relocate from Portland under new ownership,” according to Oram & Fuentes of the Portland OREGONIAN. Kotek’s spokesperson Elisabeth Shepard said, “That was an opportunity for her to reinforce her support for a deal to keep the Blazers in Portland for the long term directly to the commissioner.” The call on the afternoon of Jan. 30 came amid “a tense moment for the future of the Trail Blazers.” The franchise has worked with the state, city of Portland and Multnomah County to “orchestrate a complicated multi-governmental funding package” that would “generate roughly” $600M toward Moda Center renovations that are “seen as critical to keeping the Trail Blazers in Portland.”
"The NBA will hold a vote at the Board of Governors meetings March 24-25 to explore adding expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, with the two franchises targeted for the 2028-29 season, sources tell ESPN. There is momentum for stakeholders to approve surveying what industry executives project will be bids in the $7-to-$10 billion range for each team."
Maybe he's trying to get his foot in the door in case the Grizzlies or Pelicans become available? Doesn't hurt to have name familiarity.
Pretty classless of him. Players have absolutely no business sharing their "opinions" like this. We'd feel absolutely terrible if someone said the same about St. Louis, and reality is that Memphis faces all the same problems as we face.

Not similar at all to this, not sure why you're comparing them.whitherSTL wrote:Unfortunately the Mets broadcaster’s comments going national….StlAlex wrote: ↑6:55 PM - 21 days agoPretty classless of him. What does going national mean? Being broadcast on Twitter which less than 10% of the population uses daily? Also whatever you think about LeBron his microphone/voice means more to people than a Mets announcer.
It's also funny to think that LeBron actually would go out and do something on a game day/day off. Do people think he's going to Kid Rock's bar or on a bachelorette barcycle down Broadway in Nashville if the team is there? It's goofy for him to imply that, but he's been making stuff up/embellishing sh*t for years now.

Keep in mind Lebron is from Akron, OH and played ball in Cleveland for many years. I guess his stints in Miami and Los Angeles warped has made him out of touch.StlAlex wrote: ↑6:55 PM - 21 days agoPretty classless of him. Yes, this is important. Remember if you engage with a tweet you're going to get nearly everything from that tweet going forward. It can incorrectly give people a perception that something is viral/national. Reality is that 0.01% of the general public is going to see that tweet OR hear the clip from a single MLB game.jtlq53 wrote: ↑8:03 PM - 21 days agoWhat does going national mean? Supposedly one of the complaints from NBA players is the best hotel in Memphis the Westin across the street from the arena: and that as Westins go it's pretty average.goat314 wrote: ↑8:58 PM - 21 days agoKeep in mind Lebron is from Akron, OH and played ball in Cleveland for many years. Classless. Definitely. But he is entitled to his opinion. No different from you.StlAlex wrote: ↑6:55 PM - 21 days agoPretty classless of him. Lol no he's not. He's an rich person who plays a child's game for a living and probably has no knowledge about Memphis whatsoever. He has absolutely no right to bash a city and in turn a fan base. Pathetic coming from you considering you have first hand knowledge of what it's like to have a sports franchise torn from a city that faces a difficult set of circumstances. People will be devastated if/when the Grizzlies move and the city will face even more economic hardships. Also rich of him coming from Cleveland, another city that has faced economic hardships and decline.STLAPTS wrote:Classless. Definitely. But he is entitled to his opinion. The difference between me and him is that he's a non-college educated rich person with no understanding of what he's speaking on and he has a microphone. I'm a college educated relatively poor person who has no microphone to sh*t on cities I personally may not like for no reason whatsoever.
