Funny, I was thinking of Boyle Metrolink, which should be a reality in 2017. But STL Streetcar could expand those options soon after.

I'm a little confused. So is St. Louis getting the MIDWEST REGIONAL sales office as the CBS article posted above suggests or has Pandora finally selected a St. Louis location. Clayton, based on the article below, had been in the running for the local office.

Here's a St. Louis Post-Dispatch article from 2013,

Pandora takes aim at local radio advertisers

If St. Louis is getting the MIDWEST REGIONAL sales office, that is huge. If so, what would the "Midwest" regional office look like? Chicago and Detroit already have offices. Will they operate independently of the Midwest regional office?

Will the St. Louis office cover the rest of the of the Midwest? Or will it cover St. Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Des Moines, Southern Illinois, Missouri, Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky?

If the St. Louis office is for the whole Midwest..........what a major coup for St. Louis!

See the list of current Pandora offices HERE.

^With about sixty (60) employees nationwide - in about six sales offices - based on the Post-Dispatch article, that's nearly average.

Here's an article from 2013 about Square taking up 5,000 square feet in an Atlantic Station building in Atlanta.

Also, in Atlantic Station, Pandora leased 3,000 square feet in a new 25-story tower. Pandora's Atlanta office had 10 workers in 2013.

I really wonder if Uber is all about having a physical address to make its push against the taxi cab commission. Which wouldn't surprise me, my own company as a contractor sees more and more of such requirements from localities of any size. Simply put if you want their business, or to gain the local permits, local business licenses to do work in their jurisdiction you need a physical presence (the legal version of pay to play).

Pandora is a nice pickup, but as Arch City noted, could be very limited. I really think who is announced for the space above tech shop and if the Crescent building is coming together for a West Coast based bio/life science company will be much more important for CORTEX and city moving forward. The Companies might or might not have the name recognition but the space being talked about will bring in good employee numbers and maybe future growth that will be very beneficial in the long run. Plus, filling out existing space with larger leases might finally make financing spec space at US Metals site much more doable for Wexford or at least drop pre lease space requirements before ground is broken

It will service Houston, Bryan-College Station and Corpus Christie.

Too bad we didn't get their autonomous car/advanced technologies center... that went to Pittsburgh's Strip District .

I think using the IKEA lot would have been perfect.

I need to clarify that my confusion lies in whether the original Pandora office plans, where Clayton was the frontrunner (based on the 2013 Post-Dispatch article), has morphed into a bigger (MIDWEST REGIONAL) office for CORTEX/St. Louis.

The articles are confusing.

A regional office, in the traditional sense, is one thing - but still huge. However, an ordinary local Pandora office, which is likely to end up in every city - not so much.

I'm trying to figure out what is St. Louis getting. Huge or ordinary? Either way, it's positive news, but I'll prefer huge.

I think Pittsburgh is way ahead of St. Louis is advanced/robotic technologies.

Carnegie Mellon has been very instrumental in that field for Pittsburgh.

It's my hope that St. Louis can one day get a private technical college/university besides Ranken.

The autonomous/driverless/advanced technology cars should be something pursued by Ranken.

^ arch, my read is that Pandora chose Cortex over Clayton for its office and probably doesn't have plans for a big presence here.... from your 2013 article:

Pandora currently employs two sales staff members in the St. Louis region and a client services employee. Pandora is searching for office space in Clayton to grow to as many as eight employees here and should have a location selected by the end of the year, said regional vice president Gabe Tartaglia, who oversees the company’s sales offices in the central part of the country.[/i

From my understanding of the Cortex move, they will have space for 7 or 8 sales people so that jives well with their announced plans for 13 but that Cortex won out.

^^Ranken is a trade school, not a research institution, and it doesn't have a robotics program. Autonomous/driverless/advanced technology cars sounds right up Missouri S&T's alley though.

^ I could see that. Nothing compared to the big boys in Ann Arbor, etc. but it would be cool for them to develop a good focus on that. It also comes to mind that Enterprise should be in the game.

So in essence, it appears that it has taken Pandora two years to select a sales office location in St. Louis. I thought they had been already been operating out of Clayton. :?

I'm still confused whether this will be a "Midwest regional" or St. Louis "regional" office. CBS Local suggested, "Midwest Regional" office.

Also, I never thought they would scale the office to have a "big presence". Their average office size per person nationally is about 10 people.

Regardless, it's great that St. Louis has snagged a Pandora office - especially considering that StationDigital's HQs appears to have moved again........... to Tampa. The contact number for them has switched to L.A. It seems StationDigital could be folding in the near future. Tim Roberts is in a world of trouble............again. He seems like a smart guy, I hope he gets it together.

From Inquisitr.com

INTERNET RADIO SERVICE PANDORA OPENS NEW OFFICE IN ST. LOUIS

An excerpt from the article,
Pandora has certainly chosen a fitting area to play host to its new office; like its new tenant, the innovation district is nothing short of amazing. As its official website mentions, the innovation district boasts a variety of bio-medical and technological research facilities that promise to “hatch some of the nation’s most promising technological advances.”

Yes, I know Ranken is a primarily a trade school, but it would be nice if Ranken took a risk with more high tech industries such as industrial robotics and nanotech. After all, it is called "Ranken Technical College". To be fair, Ranken does offer some Information Technology programming/degrees.

And it would be nice if St. Louis had a branch of S&T - in CORTEX or downtown.

Yes, the windowless area is the loading dock but the windowed area is the now enclosed former parking structure. They also added a new exit to the east side of the building overlooking Ikea.

There was signage on the building. Tim Roberts had both of his companies names (StationDigital and CloudWeb Store) on the building. There was a photo of the signage (Highlands Plaza Two, left corner) on Station Digital's Facebook page, but all of Station Digital's social media have been taken down. They even had photos of their Highlands Plaza Two offices.

CloudWeb Store's new address is in Chesterfield, while StationDigital is showing Tampa now.

I really do believe the intent was to keep StationDigital in St. Louis, but Roberts, unfortunately, ran into legal troubles.

StationDigital CEO Lou Rossi is a Florida guy, so with Tim running into trouble again, I guess it was a perfect opportunity to run StationDigital from Florida.

How long it will be around? Who knows.
