My 4 year old goes positively apesh*t every time we pass the mobile double crane at the IKEA site.

Monday: DADDY! IT'S A DOUBLE CRANE!
Tuesday: DADDY! IT'S A DOUBLE CRANE!
Wednesday: DADDY! IT'S A DOUBLE CRANE!
Thursday DADDY! IT'S A DOUBLE CRANE!
I'll give you a wild guess what he'll do tomorrow.

Yup. I almost have to plan my trip routes with him to avoid construction sites.

BTW: looks like they added a second crane to the IKEA site yesterday.

^ Hopefully the little guy hasn't noticed the new (mobile) red crane at what I believe must be the parking garage project on Duncan. We don't want any potential accidents to happen!

The McKinley Research Building has pretty much completed its skeleton.
Also just noticed that this building is very much visible from northbound Kingshighway... it should be a very nice visual. Cant' really see it from the 64 trench though unless you're really looking.

I thought I should mention the tower crane at Progress Pkwy (270/Dorsett) for new Ed Jones construction. Its kinda short and wide (of course), but for those that don't make it out to MH often I thought I'd mention it anyway. Hopefully (at least), these shiny new low squatting highway sidlers eventually give rise to new towers downtown somehow. I'm sorry for not having any pics at this time.

We need to spread these kinds of photos to the rest of the world to show that yes, things are happening in St. Louis. BTW, Arch City and gasm are both great at getting the pics out over social media. Keep 'em coming, guys!

Numbers 1, 2, 6 & 7 are down now, but we've added two for the Coal Bunker Building and one for Opus.

^ right, things are a changing..... right now there are 6 cranes up in the CWE (3 at BJC, 2 @ Coal Bunker and 1 at Opus) and 2 in Midtown (SLU dorms). And driving by today, it looks like we can expect a crane at the STLCOP site soon.

I hope that Chalupas kid gets to see all the glory!

PostJan 30, 2016#42

^ there'll be no crane at STLCOP, unfortunately... but for those in need of a crane porn fix here is a neat timelapse of the BJC Campus Renewal:

When coming over the Poplar Street Bridge, for around 0.7 of a second, you can see all the Central Corridor cranes. It truly gives such an awesome view. Not gonna lie, I've longed for the day to see the St Louis skyline dotted with cranes- finally its here.

Also of note, at Fair St Louis the other day I was standing next to some people from Louisville, KY. They remarked "St Louis must be booming with all of these cranes."

Good to hear. :D
