I did some rough estimates when the Boeing strike occurred. The impact was about 1.25-1.75 jobs in manufacturing and transportation support jobs regionally per Boeing job. Great win for STL!!! Keep in mind that, just a couple years ago, there were real fears of the Hazelwood operations shutting down - especially after Boeing lost out on the new long-range bomber program that went to Northrup Grumman with their B-21 Raiders. And as @soulardx pointed out above, the lost JSF bids. Fast forward, and we have the two new 6th Gen fighters - the F/A-XX and the NGAD - plus the F-15EX, plus the eT-7A, plus the final runs on the F/A-18 and the E/A-18G, as well as the MQ-25 being built at Mascoutah. It's a full 180, with billions worth of new construction at STL, and decades worth of employment ahead.

This is huge news! Can't ask for better news. With suppliers and military folks coming to STL in droves to conduct business; I can't wait for the new airport is up and running. Heck. this may bring us more international flights!
General sentiment online is that it is noteworthy to have this many planes in production in one place. Given the complexity, I imagine this has to increase the likelihood of more corporate jobs coming with this.
