What car washes does he own?dbInSouthCity wrote:he owns car washes, they arent hard to operate.SB in BH wrote: ↑Nov 29, 2022Can someone explain the Car Wash Daddy thing to me? Also, I see in his post that he does his Alderman job "full-time." Maybe I just need to check my privilege, but I don't see how anyone can live on an Alderman's salary unless they have a working partner and/or independent wealth. I'm sure this is a major deterrent to would-be candidates, myself included. It's just not possible to take a massive pay cut from my private sector job to be a full-time alderman, but it seems equally impossible to be an effective alderman while working a (more than) full time regular job, and still have time for family, etc.

JCM 45 months
Boyd 36 months
Reed - TBD
JCM should be out after about 22 like Stenger who also got 45

^ Reed got the same as JCM.

Though I agree that both are likely to get the Stenger treatment.

Boyd still has some insurance fraud sentencing to deal with, he may stay in the longest despite getting the shortest term in today’s sentencing
Vacarro ran a car wash where the Wendy's on Hampton currently is. It was notable as having a long-term contact to wash City police cars on demand, thus having a guaranteed revenue stream.downtown2007 wrote: ↑Dec 06, 2022What car washes does he own?dbInSouthCity wrote:he owns car washes, they arent hard to operate.SB in BH wrote: ↑Nov 29, 2022Can someone explain the Car Wash Daddy thing to me? ^ Davis wasn’t going to run, which is why the seat was drawn to favor JCM but he went to prison and the latest rumor is that Davis will run. Keys too. Really no hurry until after the new year

Oldenburg bowing out of the BOA Pres race.
Will Green go unchallenged?
Will Green go unchallenged?
I assume someone will file against her but probably gets by without a serious challenge.
The threshold of signatures to file for BOA president is a lot higher (something like 1300) since it’s a City-wide office.

My sources tell me the expectation is there won’t be a serious challenger filing vs Green, so she will get a full 4 year term in a walk over
I've heard the same. The most likely candidate pulled his hat from the ring. It's unfortunate. Green is well-intended, but we need someone in this position to balance the Ultra Progressive agenda.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jan 03, 2023My sources tell me the expectation is there won’t be a serious challenger filing vs Green, so she will get a full 4 year term in a walk over

^My guess is Oldenberg couldn't find a way to market his candidacy any different than Jack Coatar did--young guy that's part of the old guy (and girl) club. And if that didn't work out in November hard to see why it would in March.
I say this as someone who voted for Coatar. People wanted change, not the Slay/Krewson old guard.
