Go StL. Oh and btw, I have heard people call the ballpark village and bottle districts "rumors", why, those projects are for real. I'd say over 95 for cordish and 90 for bottle district. They are clients.

Grid or anyone else who knows from reliable sources, if the proposed 3 residential towers for BPV are a reality, will there be 3, and how tall will they be? And, when is a definite date for this to get started going to happen?

And, if the original Bottle District proposal is reality, does anyone know a definite date when this will happen as well? I would love to see residentail tower(s) in the Bottle District, but let's take one thing at a time, get the commercial and entertainment phase in the building stages, then focus on the residential phase!

I don't know the details of it, but I was told that the bottle district tower will be around 50 floors by the devloper. I don't know the time schedule on that though. The Cordish development, same deal, like in KC, I would expect at least one dencent sized tower in the first phase though.

Grid, Thanks for the reply. I, as well as everyone else will have to wait until Ghazi and Cordish decide to start construction on their respecitve towers. I really hope these projects will start within the next 6 months.

Do you or anyone else know of any other NEW proposals that have not yet been introduced into any of the forums yet?

your best bet is to check the threads on each individual development for updates..

If it gets cooler in the next few days, (Which I doubt) I'll try and walk down to the Cordish development site and snap a few to give the people here some views of the construction that's going on.

Has anyone been to the ballpark website lately? I do not know if these are new pics or old, but they seem disappointing to me! They are at the top of this link...

Hopefully these will not be the final decisions. What a crappy use of high end, downtown space!

Peace

Those are the very first renderings from 5 years ago. There have since been new ones and they can be found somewhere in this thread.

You can find the latest renderings here, under New Developments, if you are really interested...

And those will be just as disappointing to you, I am sure.

Do we have any idea when this project will acutally start construction? This year, or next?

Not sure if this was a response to my response or not, but any snippiness you detected is 100% directed at the Cardinals/Cordish for not having their act together enough to break ground before the end of the first season at New Busch; or enough to at least provide a somewhat finalized concept by now - almost 9 months after the demolition of Busch Stadium.

Take this with a LARGE grain if salt, but according to Mike Shannon the cardinals already have plans decided upon for the BPV. Mike said so during the game tonight. Mike's probably referring to the preliminary plans (which we all know are not yet final) but who knows. Its da,m sure about time that they get a final plan decided upon .....

 Anything that comes out of Mike Shannon's mouth should automatically come with a boulder of salt.

He said he saw a model of BPV. Is this leading up to an announcement? Isn't funding about to be set?

If you were referring to me, my quotations were used to make fun of Cordish and the Cardinals, while still answering your question.

I haven't heard anything new about the project- but I haven't heard anything new from the city either.

Supposedly the city is playing hardball with the Cardinals and Cordish. It's been suggested that this project can and will get done sans further incentives. Fine. But I'm bloody sick of looking at that hole in the ground between Clark and Chestnut streets. If the Cardinals are bluffing, it's time to call the bluff.

What you don't like the wanna be landfill hole right next to the shinny new stadium?

Not a bad idea, they could just start filling it with trash from the games. Ugh, shouldn't have said that, don't want to give anyone any ideas...plus, I've seen enough people already throw beer bottles over the fence.

Our winter of discontent could be worse with the way the season is going, and ownerships reluctance to spend money on actual good baseball players.

^Yeah, there was quite a bit of garbage in "The Hole" last time I walked by. All it needs is a couple of burned-out cars, some moldy mattresses, and a few stray dogs, to confirm what many people around the country already believe about this city, particularly Cubs fans. Can't wait to see what the Tribune sports writers say about it after next weekend. Maybe we are better off if the Cards don't make the playoffs...

Right now, I'd just be happy to see signs at the site reading "Future home of Ballpark Village" to let out-of-towners know that it (hopefully) won't remain a hole in the ground for long.
