Ugh, and that makes me think of the Cubs winning the World Series.

^At the time, that felt like the first sign of the apocalypse. Now it REALLY feels like that was the first sign of the apocalypse. I keep hoping it's all a bad dream and I'll wake up. Man, I wrote a poem welcoming 2020. Seriously.
Baseballism is open. Well... their official grand opening is tomorrow according to their Twitter but there have been people coming in and out of this place over the past week.

The construction elevator has been taken down. This will start to wrap up here pretty quickly. While I don't like losing the crane, I am very much looking forward to residents moving in. As others have echoed, hopefully it gets fully leased up quickly and we get details on Two Cardinal Way ASAP.
Nice photo! Certainly fills a gap. Also looks quite a bit different from the opposite side, especially the wedge section, which isn't as visible. Thanks for sharing.
Soon... there's some things beyond 2CW.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Jun 07, 2020Downtown needs more glassy residential
Can we get a hint? I know 300 Broadway got stalled. Is the Landing tower still in the mix? I wonder where new residential towers would go other than Stadium area or Landing.
There are plenty of sites Downtown, you just have to find the right one. Being by BPV is appealing to many, but you don't want to concentrate all development right there. The Landing has it's own challenges to go through before a tower is proposed there.goat314 wrote: ↑Jun 08, 2020I wonder where new residential towers would go other than Stadium area or Landing.
Ok. I'm thinking either Washington Avenue, maybe Tucker, possibly the Kiener Garages. A long shot could be Chouteau Landing. When will we hear more? What are the chances?chriss752 wrote: ↑Jun 08, 2020There are plenty of sites Downtown, you just have to find the right one. Also a lot of potential near the civic center.
Chris, I won't ask for any details since I understand the nature of your work means you can't really leak anything out...but back in March on this thread, you had mentioned that 2CW was in design since up to that point demand had been strong at OCW. Is that still the case? Has Covid-19 delayed or nixed any plans there for the Cardinals and Cordish?
^ And since we're speculating, I would say there is next to no chance of a new building on Chouteau's Landing before at least a few rehabs down there...and I would also say the Kiener Garages would be a pretty sizable long shot too. I'd guess 300 S Broadway...or something on a surface lot nearby...or near the Wash Ave and Old Post Office areas.

My speculative two cent comment is that CupplesX might be coming back as a slender residential tower. Empty site ready to build on, already owned outright by developer, and good location (next to ballpark, transit, not to far from NOW district and or the new MLS stadium & add in future Chouteau Greenway).
What downtown could use is some big East/West Coast financial institution buying 909 Chestnut on the cheap and adding a good back office work force to downtown. Would probably help w 2CW getting off ground sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know the result of the Treasurers RFP for the Cupples lot at Spruce and 11th? Call ended in March.
Last I knew, 2 Cardinal Way was in design but corona may have changed this. Leasing numbers at OCW are over 70% right now, so that's really good. So much so that they could be advancing 2 Cardinal Way plans as a result. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce 2 Cardinal Way while in this situation we are in. It wouldn't start construction for at least a year after an announcement (or at least that's what I think). As for taller or shorter than One Cardinal Way, I would think shorter and more in line with Two Light in KC. Regarding corona, it did throw a wrench into Cordish's 3 Light plans and the Cardinals aren't making money from it.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Jun 08, 2020Chris, I won't ask for any details since I understand the nature of your work means you can't really leak anything out...but back in March on this thread, you had mentioned that 2CW was in design since up to that point demand had been strong at OCW. Chouteau's Landing area will focus on historic rehabs first before building new. You have to take care of the old buildings first before building new down there. Establish something to grow off of. Besides, there's no high rise planned for the Chouteau's Landing area. It wouldn't make sense down there anyway. I couldn't see 300 South Broadway becoming the site of another high-rise proposal. It would be a huge undertaking to go through that whole process again.
Still listed as active by Gershman on LoopNet. I doubt the RFP got any responses since it was quiet.addxb2 wrote: ↑Jun 08, 2020Does anyone know the result of the Treasurers RFP for the Cupples lot at Spruce and 11th? Call ended in March.
