OCW is 60% leased

From an interview with Bill DeWitt III and Marnie Sauls, executive director of residential management at Cordish. How has One Cardinal Way leasing been impacted by what’s going on? Sauls: It has impacted it. We went from being able to bring people on site for a tour — that lasted almost a week before we shut down. It did slow down a little bit. But I think the whole world slowed down. We’re still getting a couple leases every week. We are a little over 60% leased, which is phenomenal for a project this far out still, without being able to be in the building and actually touch and feel everything you are getting.
What units have drawn the most interest in leasing? Sauls: The two-bedrooms have gone the fastest. We’re over 70% leased on the two bedrooms. We only have six penthouse units available, so those leased up pretty quickly as well. You start to see a shift after the building is 60% leased where more people are wanting the smaller apartments. You’re getting the younger age group in there and they are saying “you know what, I want the smaller apartment.” Those are starting to lease right now too.

How would they ever upgrade that One Cardinal Way screen? Was the screen itself installed in pieces, or one piece? I guess I can look at the webcam... If it is small enough pieces I suppose they could use the window washing platforms.FrankRider wrote: ↑May 03, 2020I’ve wondered a long time as to why a casino making millions a day with a nationally recognized 5 star hotel would let that glowhawk just languish to the point where it looks like trash. Maybe when it was built the technology was good for the time but there’s no reason it shouldn’t have been upgraded to higher resolution by now. Hopefully ballpark village won’t make the mistake. But the choice to start with that awkward little screen doesn’t bode well. Maybe it’ll be one of those new 8k models and we’ll be able to see it for miles.

And by the way, the Lumiere casino Glohawk is not an LED screen, it is made up of perforated metal panels with LEDs inside, behind each hole. I don't think there's much they can do to upgrade it, just replace the LEDs.
No more tower crane. They did however reset the Busch Stadium webcam so you can at least see the entire building. Aside from the television we all love to hate...the building itself looks fantastic I think. Can't wait to see it all from inside the stadium. Definitely the strongest looking component of Phase II.

It's funny that there is a balcony directly under the giant display.
It would be difficult to use your balcony without feeling like everyone is watching you, but it would be great for exhibitionists and other attention-seekers I suppose...

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this yet but there’s a new big screen above the stage that is much more appropriately sized now.

Imagine if the only place one can actually watch a Cards game in Busch III live is from one of those apartments' balconies or its common area. That'd do one hell of a lot for boosting lease rates.
I thought the same!gone corporate wrote: ↑May 18, 2020Imagine if the only place one can actually watch a Cards game in Busch III live is from one of those apartments' balconies or its common area. That'd do one hell of a lot for boosting lease rates.
A friend in hospitality told me that the Hilton has to occasionally ask guests to close their curtains during night games for this reason. Soooooourbanitas wrote:but it would be great for exhibitionists and other attention-seekers I suppose...

^It's very true. Two years ago, when I was working in downtown Chicago with a hotel directly across from me, it was almost a weekly occurrence that we'd see something. People just assume that you can't see through hotel windows for some reason.
^ And then you have this hotel...

Most of the units with balconies facing the stadium are already leased out.gone corporate wrote: ↑May 18, 2020Imagine if the only place one can actually watch a Cards game in Busch III live is from one of those apartments' balconies or its common area. Yep, time for Cordish/DeWitt to start teasing us with two cardinal way next doorcourtland wrote: ↑May 18, 2020That is a gorgeous view! A welcome addition to the skyline.
That's probably not gonna happen anytime soon, what with the the soon to be 20% unemployment rate and looming recession.
Guessing we'll probably see something in 2022 or 2023 or so.

Sounds like cheap construction costs to me. But yeah, you’re probably right.DTGstl314 wrote:That's probably not gonna happen anytime soon, what with the the soon to be 20% unemployment rate and looming recession.

Entire tour officially postponed until 2021. The only surprising thing is that it took so long to announce the concert wasn't going to be happening.chriss752 wrote: ↑May 11, 2020This is a little off topic but Kenny Chesney's concert at Busch Stadium is still planned for June 13th. It will be interesting to see if it's cancelled but they were advertising it as recently as this afternoon on 92.3/WIL.

I don't think there's going to be a single major concert at any large venue (ie Busch Stadium, Enterprise Center, Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, The Fox, Stifel Theatre) in St. Louis or pretty much anywhere else in America this whole summer.
On a tangential note, after Taylor Swift cancelled her entire summer tour back in April, Kenny Chesney was supposed to be the first major event at StanK's $5 billion money pit stadium in Inglewood, and then after Chesney postponed his tour, Guns 'n Roses was going to be the first major event at SoFi, and then after G'nR postponed their tour, Tim McGraw was going to be the first big event at SoFi, and now McGraw's tour is postponed as well.
So that's fun.
That's beautiful. I imagine that costs millions of dollars. Would love to see some of our garages get this treatment.pdm_ad wrote: ↑May 21, 2020Now this is an LED screen I could live with:
