The Cards are proud of their new toy....

Hmm. I wonder if anyone told that sculpture installer that he was missing a pair of balls...
Here's a cool drone video from Justin Barr (STL From Above)...

That's horrendous looking. I hope you're kidding.

Call me optimistic, but I hope it’d only be used during game time or major sporting events.
Better yet, they come to their senses and don't install that monstrosity at all.

It’s 330FT in the sky. There’s absolutely no need for a jumbo screen unless Cordish/DeWitt want to dance around and say “We have the highest TV screen in the state”. I prefer the “glohawk” more.

In a way it's quaint before it's even fully installed. Kind of like banks displaying the time and temperature.

Who's going to watch a screen 300' up when everyone can watch just about everything on a screen they carry around in their pocket or purse?

The big TV doesn’t look good but the ONE sign is just as bad. The letters nestle within each other which I suspect will be illegible for a distance. The average passerby isn’t going to know what ONE even if they can read it.

the "ONE" lettering bothers me way less than the f*cking TV screen, which is completely classless and is not going to age well. maybe if the screen occupied the entire wedge so it could be lit up with solid colors or patterns or somethings... as it is it just looks awkward and sh*tty.

The ONE signage is disturbing at least leave some space between the letterings and or put the ONE signage elsewhere to possibly eliminate it all together and the video screen is unnecessary there’s already enough screens in the stadium just light the top with led lights as originally planned. I still think it’s a nice building minus the video screen and the ONE signage

I think the ONE sign will likely end up getting corrected, we won’t be the only ones to notice that. I also think the rendering makes it look a little overexposed and and way too bright. I’m not sure how close it’ll end up to that in reality.

The screen is gimmicky and useless, but considering all the hate and b*tching about the “glowhawk” here I’d probably say it could be worse. There doesn’t appear to be a matching one on the east side (thank god) of the building and it doesn’t look like the entire cap will light up either. Just a small section that faces the rest of BPV. A stupid idea...but a full size display covering the entire roof like the one at Lumiere might be worse.

Is this maybe a cheaper replacement for the glohawk?  Because having a jumbotron surrounded by an internally-lit surface would make even less sense than it does by itself...

Is this a confirmed thing that's actually happening? Is there some news story where this was revealed?

I'm an architectural purist, and the recent proliferation of company names on top of our Downtown buildings irks me to all hell. This ain't Times Square.

Improperly spaced letters and a screen in the sky? This is an outrage!!!

Seriously, this all seems pretty harmless and par for the course for BPV. BPV has and will have tons of signage and screens and logos. Some of it will be better than others.

I'm sorry to tell you, Ballpark Village absolutely is (or at least aspires to be and will increasingly be with each new element/addition/phase) Times Square.

The only thing that screen could be useful for is displaying the score of actively happening games

They should play the video of this woman throughout the night.

Tacky is all I can say...

Might as well put the screen on one side of the building instead of on the roof.

BPV is tacky. The video board fits with the development's theme of total Cardinals baseball immersion. Likewise for the huge commissioner's trophy that was just installed

This may get me stoned but I kind of like the display.

Sure I can see where it's a bit tacky.

But come on, from a marketing standpoint, I think it's great. Everyone driving by will know this is a Cardinals related building. Also, our downtown has little in the way of lighting for the mid and high rises. This provides a sense of activity, I guess.
