There's the marketing research aspect as well - major leaguers would be able to test out Rawlings products. Such a move would bring Rawlings an incredible amount of publicity/exposure.
I don't know if it's antithetical, but I think there might be more value if Rawlings could partner with the Cardinals in their HOF rather than going it alone. I just wonder how much interest there would be in a Rawlings-specific museum. Louisville Slugger in Louisville seems to be pretty successful, so who knows.

I wonder how the brand values of Louisville Slugger and Rawlings compare. Anyone know?

^ It would be kind of cool if this little vintage baseball bat start-up could find a little presence at BPV.

Or at least in the city somewhere. Sounds like a perfect fit for one of the many small industrial buildings that are scattered all over town.

I believe theres high demand for a residential/office component or residential/hotel component that is prime real-estate and I've talked to many people that live outside of the city say they would jump at a chance to buy if ever got off the ground ..I had a friend here from Minneapolis during the big robotic convention and he told me that virtually all of the hotel rooms were spoken for so i think there is demand for more hotel rooms in St.Louis specially if its the Cardinals that will be a premiere hotel and I'm willing to bet it will be a 5 star hotel... Rawlings makes big sense moving to BPV but i doubt that they will do such a thing but one never knows ...

It seems doubtful that downtown could support a second five star hotel considering there are only two in the region.

^ this reminds me of the Peabody Hotel rumblings from a few months ago. I guess we'll see how that turns out; that would be truly an unexpected development I think.

I don't think you need Rawlings to move to BPV. It's pretty clear they don't want to either.

I think what would be cool and work pretty well is if they had a small scale glove making shop with big open windows fronting Clark. You could watch workers hand make gloves and purchase them there. Maybe even get your initials stitched into one. It would be really cool to be able to watch the process of making a glove It's great exposure, and just cool in general.

Maybe not 5 star: but possibly something upscale/4 star? Doesn't have to be a huge hotel either.

I'd like to see a Kimpton property here.

One question, though. Why do you need someone in the bathroom to turn the water on for you and squirt soap onto your hands? And then you are expected to tip them? I think I was about 2 years old when I learned to effectively wash my own hands. I don't need help. Anyway, that part seemed silly to me.
What's the point of going there if you didn't go to the museum, eat or drink? I wouldn't have much fun just walking around either...

2nd portion- that's pretty common in a lot of places are Wrigley, seemed like every bathroom I go to in wrigleyville has someone in the bathroom with the sink area full on gum, cologne , smokes, condoms ect ....
We didn't go for BPV. We went for the game. We just stopped by BPV after leaving the game. I was just saying that, for what we want, BPV doesn't seem to offer a lot. I doubt Wrigleyville would, either. I've been to Power & Light, which was okay. We had gelato there. That was really good. My family doesn't eat often at upscale places or shop at expensive stores, so a lot of these new developments don't really appeal to us. We probably would have gone to the Cardinals museum (we did back when it was in the bowling building), but we just didn't have time.

I'm glad BPV is there. It's income for the city. It's also much better than a dirt lot or a pond. I know one of the storefronts said that The Fudgery will be there at some point. Maybe later in the year if we go to a game we will check that out.

I dislike this. It's ridiculous, IMHO.

The mens restroom doesn't have an attendant there. It's apparently only in the ladies restroom.

I experienced it in the men's bathroom a couple weekends ago. Maybe they stopped or its only during high volume times.

It sounds like he might have a pretty awesome scoop, but he's waiting on renderings before he tells the story.

^ ask for a refund! Actually, I don't think there was a timeline on the residential item.... Geoff commented that he would have a few other stories until he could nail it down and would have something on the North Riverfront industrial by the weekend; and his post was on that. Patience!

There's no reason to think an announcement would have anything to do with BPV.

I'm hearing a lot of hints a grand center, but it could also be the Landing tower or another CWE tower. I think a BPV is tower, but the Cardinals are really dragging their feet on it.

I hope it's a tower we've never heard a peep about at all yet instead of just more info about one we already know about. On top of that, I hope it's either DT or GC.

My opinion thats atrocious! Atlanta is completely moving backwards by building that stadium way out there but i guess thats where most of the fan base for the Braves live from what i heard.. Still glad thats not Busch Stadium.. As far as a tower announcement on BPV i would think we're at least a year away from something being proposed i just don't see Cordish making a dash for it when you have so many new announcements of towers being proposed and planned such as Clayton and CWE.. We'll know within some months on how the new OPOT is doing..
