I honestly like the colonnade, since it's a nice relief from the summer sun and it stays largely snow and ice free in winter. Makes the place feel a little more "big city" in my opinion. I will grant, though, the reskin isn't as nice as the original.

I'd welcome colonnades or just a overhand to shade the sidewalk, but there the columns are too thick.

I've been trying to figure out what this very narrow portion wrapping the garage will be. It looks too small to be any sort of dwelling unit...even by studio standards. I can see maybe on the ground floor space for commercial perhaps...but above, with so little space, what will this part be?

Great massing, don’t understand the obsession of designers/architects right now using a bunch of different cladding materials. Just throw a brick facade and a cornice and it will age much better

A game for the residents How many flushing  toilets  can we hear coming from other units?
And Im sure the cabinetry and interior accents are of the highest materials "Honey thats what the rental website/brochures stated"
And these are how much??
100 yrs or less it will be gone but the Butler building will be with us

The cladding…please just do brick with these things from now on

Going to be a great jolt for loop vibrancy though

What always burns my retinas is the windows being coplanar with the façade. On our old brick buildings they are set in the opening giving the building some more texture and depth.

Yes the lack of window ledges and cornices then the metal cladding randomly just make these buildings look like storage units. Is it that hard to just create some depth with some framing?

Imagine how much more attractive it could be if U City mandated less parking and more beauty?
