VE Design Group has done quite a few projects around town (including The Chelsea down the street, The Barton in Clayton, the Piazza on West Pine, and Choma 2 in the Grove), and they mostly all seem to follow the same pattern. Their one exception would be The Steelyard in Soulard.
And the original design for the Steelyard in Soulard had a much more VE vibe.

Just realized they're getting rid of the curb cut on DeBaliviere. Miracle of miracles!
Please put back the crosswalk on the north side of the Pershing and DeB intersection!

Demo on Talayna's will start next month according to the developer. Site prep and foundation work will then begin shortly after. A zoning permit was applied for as well on January 17th for $18 Million (only the parcel mentioned 5637 Pershing).

^ it had a smidge of charm, and probably wouldn't have been so bad if the rest of the intersection weren't also a wasteland. bring on the TOD, though!

EDIT: i take that back; it was awful. good riddance.

I must say I am shocked at the sheer glee about a demo. That said, burn baby burn! Or dust baby dust, as it were.

A tower crane, like the one at Chelsea, will be used here. Although it may not be up at the same time as Chelsea.

The Expo at Forest Park may also use a tower crane. It would be nice to have 2 up at the same time along Debaliviere

200+ additional mostly non-criminals in the area. Property taxes 8x the current use even with an 80% abatement. No more surface parking. You bet I'm excited!

Redel's was a really good restaurant!  Their other restaurant, Colorado on Laclede by SLU, was a cool place as well.
