What DB said is not a fact. That’s not what a fact is. He shared an opinion.Auggie wrote:DB was serious because he's correct and he was stating a fact, regardless of tone. Dweeb wasn't serious because it was totally unhinged and insane and would get you banned on Reddit.Debaliviere91 wrote: ↑May 22, 2025Right but DB was serious. The other post was 100% obviously not. Your comparing things that aren’t at all comparable.Auggie wrote: But my point is that DB gets called unhinged while someone who brought up cutting people's heads off didn't. The point is bias. I didn't really comment on what DB said beyond that it is true.
The point is bias, because if DB said something like that back in January, he would have gotten rightly ostracized for it. If I said something like that, I'd get rightly banned.

I called him unhinged because it's the verbage he's used at me for getting passionate about something like the crash at Ted Drewes or the botched rollout of the Metrolink gates and the double standard applied to transit users. Iow, you reap what you sow.Auggie wrote: ↑May 21, 2025If you go back to my original point, DB is being called unhinged because he called a disingenuous bigot a disingenuous bigot, yet people making actually unhinged comments like talking about cutting people's heads off gets no comment.Debaliviere91 wrote: ↑May 21, 2025It’s being brushed off by literally everyone but you. I can read and see that he was talking about cutting people's heads off. Its disturbing and disgusting and deranged yet is being brushed off but DB calling a bigot a bigot is "unhinged".
What it tells me is that you are also disingenuous, but you're comments over the last couple of days already revealed that.
I've been doing my best not to engage him or take his bait, but the temptation got me. Oh well, passions are high in this calamity. Now he's putting out some climate denial, so not sure what to make of it. I can't help but think he's morphing into Jane Dueker. Shakespearean stuff going on right there.
It would be helpful for your case to have quoted a more unhinged comment from him. Maybe one from last night?quincunx wrote: ↑May 22, 2025I called him unhinged because it's the verbage he's used at me for getting passionate about something like the crash at Ted Drewes or the botched rollout of the Metrolink gates and the double standard applied to transit users. Regardless, I like you and think you make great contributions. Just seemed lost to be calling DB unhinged not long after someone talked about cutting politician's heads off.

Does anyone know if there are any contractors, builders, handymen available for homeowners? We are finding it extremely difficult to find resources to restore power even after 6 days - we need a small wall built. Mason references?
Saw this mason in FB comments. I can't vouch for them

Depending on the wall you need built you might be better off reaching out to landscaping companies. What type of wall do you need built?stlurbanist wrote: ↑May 22, 2025Does anyone know if there are any contractors, builders, handymen available for homeowners? Beware you all! We may nave a Mayor who:
1) works hard
2) shows genuine humility
3) fosters transparency
4) serves her constituents and doesn’t use the position for her own power, pocketbook, and family’s pocketbook.
What a thought!!

Holleman: Emergency staff was in 'collaboration' workshop as tornado neared St. Louis
https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/col ... ae0fb.html
An invitation to the workshop, obtained by the Post-Dispatch, said “climate change will continue to create new uncertainties and pose disruptions,” and that the workshop would help participants “learn and develop skills to increase agility and collaboration in city functions” so that employees can “respond nimbly and effectively.”
CEMA served as a workshop co-host of sorts, along with the city’s Planning and Urban Design Agency, sending the invitation to employees from various city departments. On its website, Air Collaborative claims its mission is to provide “programming that inspires new connections and ignites the creative economy.”

As presumed. It's a DEI type thing. Nothing about sirens or even tornadoes or the weather at all.addxb2 wrote: ↑May 23, 2025Holleman: Emergency staff was in 'collaboration' workshop as tornado neared St. Louis

Lame. Best not be the end of it. How about a year's worth of the tax subsidies for BPV?
You're right, climate change has nothing to do with the weather. They're totally separate things, obviously.leeharveyawesome wrote: ↑May 23, 2025As presumed. It's a DEI type thing.
