Appears likely that a tornado hit the City. Devastating loss of trees, many building lost/destroyed. From images I’ve seen, months long cleanup. MetroLink likely disrupted for longterm.

Yea in Southhampton area, multiple trees down. Lots of streets blocked. All happened in a matter of seconds.

I left forest park about 30 minutes before the tornado hit the trails that I was exercising on are now covered by trees. I’m fortunate I had left in time. I got pretty extensive hail where I live there’s leaves all over the place

This is looking really bad for North City from what little I've seen. Of course the newsmedia has barely covered it...?

News 5 appears to be the only one covering North City.

I think the Clayton Forest Park corridor and just north of that got the worst of it.

Looks to be the worst to hit the city in decades.

4 confirmed deaths and a 20 sq block area in the West End and nearby.

Hope everyone is OK.

Extraordinary video of the Hudson's amenity lounge being blown away.

The Hudson @ Pershing and DeBaliviere sustained massive damage - big section of the roof got ripped right off...

Clayton got hammered hard as well, looks like it just went straight down Wydown taking out trees everywhere.

You need to wonder that as we see these images, and the damage adds up, what longterm impact will this have on the City? What will happen to those who don't have enough money to repair their homes? What about those without insurance (and who knows if insurance would even pay out enough to repair these homes)?

I am reading that there were NO sirens in the city???
I consider that a CATASPROIC FAILURE
Plenty of sirens on Thurs for the test

GSL continuing with the downtown Wash Ave festival is absolutely pathetic and embarrassing

All of the mature trees in Fountain Park. 😔
This is going to be a long painful recovery.

I'm in South City and yea never heard sirens. I've never not heard sirens for a tornado warned storm that was in the city limits. Heard them all day yesterday for "testing".

Probably very bad long term. I just can't imagine a particularly good outcome for some of these areas. Hopefully the state grows up and provides some actual fianacial aid.

Any ballpark on how much that will cost to fix? Or how much/if insurance will cover?

Obviously the bigger concern is the citizens of North City who have less resources to recover, but there are some absolutely stunning and historic homes around Forest Park that are damaged.

This is my biggest concern. Some of the images coming out of North City neighborhoods are just so devastating looking.

North city is where that is going to be the worst... Clayton got absolutely hammered, but it's a pretty safe bet that everyone along Wydown has good insurance because that's a very affluent neighborhood.

Here's another video someone took driving south on Brentwood Blvd. by the Enterprise campus (between Forest Park Pkwy and Clayton Rd)...

I wonder if there will be an emergency session in Jefferson City? My guess is not.
