Added a planned 77 unit, 4 story redevelopment of the former ACI Plastics site on W. Pine and dropped the apparently cancelled 3700 Olive block student housing project.

Not sure if this would be a good thread upon itself. But can see some big institutions with fixed and built environments upon themselves making investments in solar just as SLU announce. Think of it as the resurgence of the old coal fired boiler plant used to service the institution but on a much cleaner and eventually cheaper long term alternative.

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/educ ... 4137c.html

Out here in the Bay area both Google and Apple announce big investments in wind and solar last week. To me, it makes sense for some one like Monsanto to look hard at such investment for its Chesterfield campus investment or maybe CORTES/Wexford on the next phase of development (solar rooftop arrays as part of the structured environment. I believe IKEA is already going down this road.

PostFeb 20, 2015#35

I added the CityView renovation of Plaza Square Building 10 to "Under Construction".... I'm not sure how many apartments it will bring but it is a $1.6 million permit. Pretty sure it is currently vacant and once renovated will leave only Building 40 left to tackle; not sure if the firm that did the renovation of the Plaza Square 50 Building for senior apartments is still interested in it.

^ nice! I also see nextstl development tracker has a Garcia mixed-use renovation of the Bowersox building on South Kingshighway.... great to see some residential on the street; so sad to see that McMahon Ford site cleared knowing that it will be for more auto-orientation as opposed to mixed-use.

PostFeb 25, 2015#39

I took off from the Planned list

- 2650 Locust (Beaumont Building) 70 unit, market rate rehab (projected fall construction start and late 2015 finish)
- Conversion of vacant CWE church into Cathedral Square Brewery (500 N. Kingshighway)
- Youth treatment facility at Grand & Gravois
- Cardinal Ritter former campus redevelopment into Vets housing (5341 Emerson Ave.)

Kept the planned 1011 Olive conversion for Dave Bailey bbq joint and rooftop bar (old Bussone's building)

Added the planned Garcia mixed-use redevelopment of the Bowersox building at 3537 South Kingshighway.

I also moved the Terry Park Homes project in The Gate District from under construction to planned as I believe some lots may have sold but I'm not sure any construction has begun. I also don't think any home building has begun yet at Detonty Close or Mississippi Bluffs yet.

Major work is going on at 1907 Locust which is the two-story directly next to the old Tin Can.... city permit says for office. Also, records show that the Tin Can building itself was sold last summer and a permit has been issued for interior demo/whiteboxing.

Always nice to see activity in Downtown West.... I don't know what the specific plans are for the buildings, but hopefully good things happen to both!

I also added the planned BJC office tower presently know as the Coal Bunker Headquarters (nod to historical use of the site).

Moved the 3010 Washington renovation in Midtown of the Salvation Army's former emergency shelter into 58 veterans units into the completed column.

edit: this is not for formerly homeless veterans like their other project nearby and will serve a variety of transitional needs.

I believe both the 700 Market/Laclede Gas and Shriner's hospital projects are beginning move-in this month and Loop Trolley is set to start construction. Also, the Arch parking garage will be demolished this week and the Penguins will be marching back to their ice palace at the zoo. March is shaping up to be a pretty good one for project milestones.
