^Colorado's flag is pretty good. Simple and effective.

I was under the assumption that the Colorado state flag has gained some widespread popularity as part of marijuana culture due to the state's early legalization. This is based on nothing other than the increase in the number of people I saw wearing some version of it at concerts post 2012. I used to live in Colorado so when it started popping up in St. Louis, it caught my attention.

(Not going back through the thread so apologies but wanted to add)
As to the actual topic, I got my city flag at StL Style. I would recommend anyone here looking for one do the same. Support our fellow Urbanstl'ers (
 Gasm and Jive!)

(That said, I went and voted for the home team. This really ought to be the final. Stuttgart could beat both Barbados and Yaroslavl Oblast handily, I think.)

^ I suppose that since Stuttgart is STL's sister city, it's a lose-lose (or win-win, depending on your perspective) either way. Stuttgart's flag sure is classy, but I feel that horses have been done to death.

^Yeah but Stuttgart's been using horses in their seals and such since the 1300s so it was probably pretty fresh back then.

The Fleur de Lis has been done to death too. I still like it. I honestly love Stuttgart's flag. Stuttgart basically means horse farm so . . . it's always been a tad horsey.Â
That said, I still voted for the home team. I assure you. Sibling support is one thing, but it only goes so far.

Winner of winners. Champion of champions.
That’s one nice looking flag.

This is hilarious. Â A bored guy starts a Twitter account to do flag polls. Gets 430 followers total, stl people find it and proceed to be 85% of all voters

Yeah, but the results came out right, so how can you possibly argue with that? Our flag truly is coolest.
Vote again!
We're losing bad right now. Vote!

^ oh, wow. as @autiger815 put it, "That Penkhull flag is trash." if it weren't just random people voting on Twitter, it wouldn't be a competition.
Lost by about 292 votes. Thanks to the timing they had two periods of daytime to vote. We were up by 14 point with less than 6 hours to go. I declare shenanigans!
Did y’all know St. Louis County had a flag? I did not…they posted this on Facebook today:

Pretty, pretty…pretty bad. I’ve always thought the County should just adopt the City flag.

^Eek! That is truly awful. The peach on sandy taupe on harvest gold on sunflower crap will never parse. I'm not even sure it serves a purpose. The plow extending beyond the borders of the gold circle gets lost in the dark blue. (And while there is indeed a plow in the county seal that seems . . . dated. There's, what, two acres of farmland left in the county? I exaggerate, but you get the idea. Maybe it's time to replace it.) The basic colors and masses aren't terrible, but it's gotten very very lost along the way somewhere.
Seeing this I think that adoption of the city flag should be a carrot the city offers for a merger with the countysc4mayor wrote: ↑Jan 06, 2022Did y’all know St. Louis County had a flag?  I did not…they posted this on Facebook today:

To be honest, given the average quality of local government flags in the United States, I expected much worse.
While I do not love the color palette of the flag and the general style, I think it could be made into a proper design with very few modifications (simplify the wreath, remove the building silhouettes in the background, simplify the plow nd make it lighter)
