The new bridge for Delmar over the tracks doesn't have the cut outs in the railing. So the sun doesn't get through to help melt snow and ice on the sidewalk, while the Kingsbury and Waterman bridges do. Were our ancestors smart or lucky?
Those two are rated as structurally deficient. There's some planning going on to replace the Kingsbury one. Hope they have the cut outs.

The old Municipal Bridge Road deck. That part is over 6th Street.

This one may be easy but it may also be a challenge.

You got it. It's the back of the Pulitzer, shot from - as I like to call it - Emily's Gravelly Knoll.

Here's a relatively easy one, or at least it should be.

Carter Carbuerator or the Beaux Arts building. Now part of the performing arts school in Midtown that revamped the Sun. (And bully for them, by the way.)

(That was a plan that took a long time to work out, but man, I'm glad it did.)

Immediately thought it was the National Candy factory at Meramec & Gravois.. I guess the style is pretty similar

I'm kind of waiting for Chris to confirm my answer, but . . . it's Beaux Arts. (Though lord, I don't want to pretend I can either spell or pronounce that. So please lord, give me a pass on the spelling this once!)

That said, in the interest of moving on, here's one I've been sitting on for a while.

Yes. It's Carter Carburetor at Grand and Delmar/Grand and Grandel.

Excellent! So . . . my little detail shot above is official, then. :) What am I, asks a tree on a pile of rocks.

Don't know exactly what structure but the last photo has to be either in Cahokia or Ste Genevieve.

Those are certainly logical guesses, and they're not far afield, but . . . no, it's not quite required that it be in one of those two. And I don't believe it is. (Not that I care to trace boundaries exactly, but assuming Google got their maps right. And they're not perfect, but they're usually fairly reliable.) Let's just say that's close. And here's a hint: Our logs have some friends.

The stones and stairs remind of a cabin in Faust Park, but the vertical striping just doesn't seem right?

Not Kimmswick. Not Faust Park. Southcitygent is on the right track, just not quite there. The vertical striping is a distinctive feature of the general class to which this structure belongs. (The general class comprises two structures in Cahokia, many in Ste. Genevive, and a handful of others elsewhere. Quite possibly including several still buried inside modern buildings.) If no one gets there I'll post the full frontal tomorrow. Or maybe a nice risque three quarters. Something more revealing.

This whole "building in a building" thing has me thinking of the late eighteenth century Spanish blockhouse found in a St. Charles barn. Yep, there are still discoveries to be made. We are just old enough to have misplaced interesting buildings. And sometimes . . . they turn back up.

Okay . . . full frontal:

The Pierre Martin House which I believe is just across the Cahokia city limits in East Carondelet, while the old Holy Family church is in Cahokia.
