^ I wish that Soulard Market would expand. I've been to much better markets in Indy/Cincinnai/Cleveland. And as much I don't like to say this . . . they need parking. I say put up a garage on the east side of Broadway.

I've heard that improvement plans for Soulard Market are again surfacing -- I think due to the growth in the volume of shoppers. They include parking improvements. This past weekend (Bastille Days) the Soulard Market/Park were jamming all day.

Framer wrote:^I like that idea. But maybe it should be over in the loft district. They could use 13th street on both sides of Washington.

I like that idea too! I just would like to see a farmer's market somewhere closer where I don't have to deal with parking. I'd ride my bike but depending on how much I buy, there's only so much you can bring home one a bike.

Union Market (The ground floor of the Drury Convention Center) should be reopened for vendors. Other than the hotel lobby and restaurant most of the old space seems relatively untouched and perfect for a small farmers market.

Did someone already say street performers? i skimmed the thread but not very well.

I'd like to see street performers downtown, including musicians, and artists and skateboarders and anyone else who wants an open space to perform in. if we want to get people to go downtown, it needs to be open to everyone.

how cool would it be if there were free open spaces that bands or djs could set up at whenever they wanted? who wouldnt want to go downtown on a random afternoon and sit and listen to live music? or watch a magician or a mime?

This phone information system San Fransisco has sounds awesome!

what better way to navigate the region's myriad of services, get real-time feedback on what issues are affecting people, and provide CIN access to those without computers!!!

Raise my taxes and put this in place!!

and hey, by forcing the gov't to use its own services, maybe it would gain a vested interest in making itself better :D
