That’s a very nice stadium.

It blows my mind that people actually think moving the Royals downtown is a bad thing. Seen on KC Reddit:

The upper concourse will be at ground level on the 1st base line. The lower concourse will be partially exposed on the first base line (my read).

They’ll be below-grade on that eastern side for a bit running next to the natural limestone bluff (which will be exposed). Earl Santee of Populous made it clear that the natural limestone was going to be a big feature and that the inclusion of terra cotta and limestone on the facade paired with the fountains and crown vision will make this “unmistakably Kansas City”. The materials and how the bluff will be seen on portions of the interior was talked about during the event, but glossed over by many in the media. I think it’s a pretty cool feature.

The roof will cover 65% of all seats, 80% of seats will be between the foul pole lines, upper most deck will be half the size of the K’s current upper deck, 50 new fan experiences are planned for this stadium, it’ll stand no more than 38ft tall along the Gillham Road side (neighborhood scaled height), they expect most fans to enter from the north, glimpses of the skyline will be from the highest seats in the stadium but overall it’ll feel intimate, team hq integrated in the left field.

Earl Santee, Brooks Sherman and John Sherman reiterated that this is to be a multi-modal ballpark and said they want fans to arrive by car, Streetcar, ride share, bike or foot and stay awhile before and after games.

Crazy to see the whole River-Crown-Plaza vision all being in transformational stages simultaneously.

I don't think they have enough clubs and lounges.

Gotta love a sky terrace that is functionally on the second floor
