June actual loads (DOT)
British London 93.2%
Southwest Punta Cana 92.8%
Lufthansa Frankfurt 90.3% (97% outbound)
Frontier Cancun 84.7%
Southwest Cabo 84.8%
Southwest Cancun 83.6%
AC Toronto 83.4% (Jazz only, no mainline numbers)
Southwest Montego 80.7%
Frontier Punta Cana 77.2%

No Montreal due to no Air Canada mainline posted.
Seeing mixed results from PIT and CLE for Iceland and Dublin, I'm not so sure I want Iceland in St. Louis. I think compared to other mid-sized regions, STL and Cincinnati (London/Paris) have the best service offerings. Solid/fundamental service offerings and less reliance on tourism. Dublin isn't really an option now with BA but I worry Iceland would be meh and damage the strong reputation STL has earned.

Vancouver (likely) and Mexico City (less likely) are what I'd like to see next.

Am I reading this right? Seems Vancouver was doing pretty big numbers around 2000. Any idea why? Also....we had direct flights to Brussels and Manchester?! 🤯

Manchester was only 2 flights in February 1992 and Brussels was 3 in July 1990. They only were STL to Europe and I am pretty sure they were diversions, Man for London and Brussels for Paris, by looking at the numbers. Not regularly scheduled.

Looks like Vancouver was a TWA route that carried over to AA until September 2003.
Shows Jazz flew it for one month in October 2003, with bad loads 43%. Only showing one way for some reason.

Is British Airways going away from seasonal to year round flying July onwards next year?

2027 schedule
March 28-April 18 - 5x week
April 19-June 30 - Daily
July 1-Sept 5 - 5x week
Sept 6-Oct 30 - Daily

Sounds like still just seasonal for now

Great news, STL community has stepped up and supported these flights better than I expected.

It may not be known due to being so far out and flights aren't loaded in that far out.

I’d agree with this. Still could get added later for the following winter.

Saw this also. I had heard D work started last month. This is from the BPS meeting today.

It is a longer season than this year. I believe the flight started April 19 and ends Oct 3, so they're adding a couple weeks at both ends too.

Isn't the premium demand rather strong for the flights as well relative to market size?

If you all remember the post about British Airways wanting to make STL year-round service (from Rhonda's SOTU) but is waiting for two things... more airplanes and more gate space at Heathrow.

Problem 1: "World Trade Center St. Louis" is in Clayton and not St. Louis.

These execs are always so perplexed as to how to further St. Louis' growth and leverage its strengths and what changes need to be made, and literally always miss the elephant in the room every single time.

Two things stood out to me. Air Canada's quotes about adding Vancouver and the business community. Also, Southwest being the only airline to decline to be interviewed.

Goes to Oct 23 this year, but still you get about an extra month next year.

Phoenix moving ahead while we're told to shut up and just wait our turn.

^Who's waiting for a turn? I'm waiting for talented people to finish complicated work. You still have to wait, but I'd say there's a difference.

Not at all. STL needs to play to win like all the other cities do - see LA having a lot of their events in the swanky parts of Orange County or Long Beach, neither of which are in LA.
The Ritz in CLayton is doing just that. I'm glad the leaders in the region understand this and more or less got vocal interest for another international route (Vancouver).  In my opinion, tribalism should stay out of it.

Lol LA is pretty much the opposite of what we should be trying to emulate💀

Known for horrible land use, known for terrible politics, known for austerity, losing population, terrible airport, terrible public transit, horrible traffic, insane cost of living, known as one of the most spread out and lease dense major cities in the world, but yes for sure lets emulate that by having our major meetings in a dogshit suburb that looks awful and feels awful to walk around, is a leech, and is the epitome of everything wrong with St. Louis and exactly why St. Louis is where it is today. You're probably right.

World Trade Center Association locations:

Baltimore- Downtown
Boston- Downtown adjacent
Buffalo- City
Chicago- Downtown
Denver- City
Detroit- Downtown
Edmonton- Downtown
Philadelphia- Dowmtown
Houston- Downtown
Indianapolis- Suburbs (technically city)
Kansas City- Downtown adjacent
Las Vegas- Downtown adjacent
Los Angeles- Downtown
Miami- City
Montrael- Downtown
New Orleans- Downtown
Norfolk- Downtown
Sacramento- Downtown adjacent
New York- Downtown
Orlando- Suburbs
Pittsburgh- Downtown adjacent
Portland- Downtown
San Diego- Downtown
Seattle- Downtown adjacent
Toronto- Downtown
Salt Lake City- Downtown
Vancouver- Downtown
Washington DC- Downtown adjacent
Winnipeg- Downtown

The longer we pretend the status quo in St. Louis is something we should just treat as normal and that it isn't an active detriment to the city and region's future, the longer St. Louis will continue to decline and get passed up by cities that at the very least take themselves seriously.

We are past the era of building actual world trade centers and now many of these are just operational organizations with less stature and impact than the local chamber of commerce. In fact, more than a few on your list are just run out of the local chamber.

It's always some excuse lmao. We will go as far as comparing Clayton to Long Beach and Disney and pretending that international business organizations are not important before admitting that maybe it's a huge detriment that we have decided an oversized office park is the center of commerce for our region.
