^Who's waiting for a turn? I'm waiting for talented people to finish complicated work. You still have to wait, but I'd say there's a difference.
Not sure what Dweebe means by who's waiting for a turn? Dweebe can elaborate on that but I do think that talented people can finish complicated work and do it right when given a sense of purpose, a goal and URGENCY!!   Yes, complicated but we have been building terminals for decades and modular techniques are upping the game & accelerating construction schedules.   Lets get D updated, move planes over and start knocking gates that need to be replaced.
The quote in article is not about getting it right but not willing to push or the the keep the status quo on a infrastructure project that is way overdue for the region in my opinion.

“Well, I think the thing that we’re doing is patiently going through and making sure that—this is about a four-billion-dollar project... Prudence is really the key here and that’s what we’re doing. We’re going very slowly and getting this done right,” O’Malley said.

I am pleasantly surprised at how well all these TATL flights are doing. Largely absent tax $ now too. Well done region!

As to the other discussion in the thread.....I follow local biz news closely and have for a long time.  Yet, I know very little about this World Trade Center Association. Be that as it may, in 2026, downtown Clayton is the CBD for the region, and as much as we all wish DT STL was booming, Clayton is the superior location.

Regarding the delay in full airport redevelopment schematics… I think the opportunity before Boeing to secure the F/A-XX contract is a big factor. Very much, Boeing’s buildout of the Brownleigh tract, on the northeast side of the airport, has been booming with new construction in multiple phases for the F-47 NGAD fighter.

Should the company secure the Navy’s 6th generation fighter contract as well, they’ll likely need even more land. Part of this includes the ongoing redevelopment of the Northern Track, the former Curtis-Wright manufacturing center.  Current planning shows it will swallow the current hangars being used by GoJet Airlines to the site’s western edge. Where will they go? They’d lose their hangar - and a whole lot of multi-use apron. Maybe that’s a consideration underway as they figure out the rest of it.

I am aware that there’s a lot of talk by Southwest, and that they’re increasing flight operations in Nashville as plans for STL remains in flux. I'm thinking that perhaps Southwest is not the only factor here.

I reasonably believe the Department of Defense will make their announcement on the F/A-XX in the near term and that Lambert’s redevelopment plans will likely emerge afterwards. I’m thinking the new plans could also see a new cargo center built, replacing the current site next to the Brownleigh site where UPS, FedEx, and Amazon operate, perhaps moving their terminal to a new one on the western side of the airport grounds.

This is pure speculation, and I have no inside information on this, but this seems very reasonable as a compounding factor.

There is a plan to move Gojet, Boeing has to pay for it, if needed. Not sure where they plan to put them thought. Could be off the “new” runway by their offices.
