I signed up for the next Drop, but it's just 1 drop that will offer tickets for all locales, correct? In theory one could buy beach volleyball at Manhattan Beach and softball in OKC via the same Drop?

Correct. You can buy tickets to any venue/city. It should be that way for all drops

Holy sh*t STL won the marathon trials over Phoenix! Insane win for St. Louis to host the soccer matches and marathon. Incredible work to everyone who put this together.

St. Louis has been selected to host the 2028 U.S Olympic team trials for the games' marathon event, USA Track & Field and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced Thursday. The last three US Olympic team trials for the marathon event have drawn an average of over 100,000 non-ticketed spectators. Broadcast nationally, 1.6 million viewers and 21.3 million social media impressions.

Go!’s Greater St. Louis Marathon will be held the day after the Olympic trials and will follow the same course. IMO, expect the Greater St. Louis Marathon to be one of the largest in the US in 2028.

Nice win but shows how far we’ve fallen. We used to host men’s hoops Final 4’s regularly, regionals almost every year, etc.

Now Nashville will be hosting a Super Bowl, KC World Cup, and Indy hosts everything. Oh well.

By "regularly" you mean in 1973, 1978, and 2005 and by "every year" you mean 1982, 1993, and 1999.

We also had regionals in 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012.

That said I’m not sure my response to us getting an Olympics qualifying event would be instead of being happy we got the event to be well yea but…..

Just take the win today. We can gripe about other stuff a different day. A Super Bowl and World Cup aren’t happening without an NFL team so you can take that up with whoever you blame for us not having a team and a state of the art stadium to go with it. Events we can host, because we have the right facilities like Olympic trails and actual Olympic events we are getting. And I am thankful for that.

Enterprise Park in its short life has brought so much good to STL.  I hope they install Olympic rings at the Park forever.

I began my post with nice win. Also, losing an NFL team has nothing to do with hosting a Final 4. No reason our dome can’t be modernized slightly to compete for Final 4’s and regionals, à la San Antonio 2 years ago.

Is it worth the cost to hold a final four every 20 years? I’m not really sure how San Antonio actually got the final four to be honest with all the new domes that have come online and now that you factor more are coming that increase competition.

I think other ancillary events would come to us than just a random Final 4. But you’re probably correct, not worth the cost. So don’t compete with others, the St. Louis mantra the last 20 years….And we wonder why we have such young person brain drain out of STL. Got to give young bright minds a reason to be here.

I don't think the brain drain problem has anything to do with a one off event every 10 or 20 years. Just like the WC isn't going to make people move to KC and 5 years from now most people won't even remember KC hosted games unless you are from there or went to a game. If we want to try to fix brain drain then there are a million better ways for the money to be spent. We need it to be spent on things that will improve every day life if we are going down that road.

I just have an issue with someone coming in to be a debbie downer when we do get an event we can celebrate. We can't have nice things without our own throwing pot shots at it. It gets tiring. But we are way off topic so I will relent at this point.

Concourse A will be closed, C and D open in first half of 2028 assuming the airports timeline continues. Visitors will be greeted by an airport under construction. A sign of a growing region.

Just to add slightly to this, cultivating an atmosphere where we celebrate our wins and don't wallow in what used to be seems like an intangible way to attract people. Young people don't care about what downtown was like in 1982. They want to be somewhere that offers them opportunities (to jshank's point about ways to spend money/resources) and where there are things to do - like maybe watching an Olympic marathon qualifier or soccer prelim.

Do you have any grasp on how much a renovation of the Dome to compete witn billion dollar stadiums in KC, Nashville, and Chicago would cost? We are talking about $500M+ at least, and that'd get us MAYBE two Final Fours? Where do you think this money is coming from?
