I know some won’t like that conclusion, but Metro as a whole has sucky leadership and I think it’s time to make some changes to how Metro is run as a whole.

I think the County should build the Wesport line. I think it would be awesome if you could get from Westport to Downtown on a single train ride. As much as we hate it. Many of the regions jobs are along the Westport corridor. A lot of opportunity for urbanish redevelopment along that corridor as well.

Between you and me, I would have loved it if Jefferson was the home to a proper subway style cut and cover rail. I would also love to see full grade separation for the entire Metro system. Sadly it’s next to impossible without state or federal support. My current answer is get more bus frequency on the lines we have and get ridership up on the lines we have. It’s probably the most we can do until there is better support. I get the frustration with BRT but I wasn’t sure about LRT either. Also this country needs to figure out how to build transit infrastructure at a far more cost effective level.
