The actual "plaza" of Peabody Plaza is really what's in need of a refresh to build off of the progress that Keiner Plaza and CityGarden have made. The continuation of the very pleasant tree-lined  "Hallway" created in CityGarden, combined with the Brickline Greenway which will be connecting all of the Gateway Mall parcels, will make for a much more active and cohesive experience of going between the sections of the parks. The very 1980's style concrete plinth and blocky walls/paths in the current Peabody Plaza block currently act as a block in this flow, and the design of both Keiner and CityGarden imply a future where this block is more connected and oriented outwards towards Market St.

Ukraft owners are constantly asking building owners to finish whatever the work under the pavers is done to be done so that they can open a full patio

There is a parking garage under there, right? I used to park there for Cardinal and Rams games.

Pretty sure the Peabody plaza area is privately owned. Their security guards are known for shooing people away.

I was under the impression that the outside plaza was technically a city park?

I mean the parcel completely interrupts the park space and does not fit into the gateway mall or downtown generally. It’s horrible design and pretty useless by the public. The whole half mall thing was just a horrible idea and I can’t believe anyone thought it made sense. What a weird time

Nevertheless, the natural progression once the Brickline Greenway is completed, will be a reimagined gateway mall. Because the Brickline goes alongside it, I think the city and GRG and the orgs involved in their projects will turn their heads to activating the gateway mall parcels, including the Peabody parcel. Eventually I think the Gateway Mall will be fantastic once the city turns it over to those thinkers and orgs but we just may not see it until the 2040s
