I can't imagine converting this to residential would be a realistic option. Who wants to live between an industrial zone to the east and one of our busier roads to the west. Even if someone wanted to convert it, the rents would have to be low just to attract residents. I for one would love to see a Culver's or Freddy's on this sport.
Because no one lives on busy streets that also command market rate rents? What world are you living in?southcitykid wrote: ↑Aug 02, 2025I can't imagine converting this to residential would be a realistic option. Did that building used to be an auto shop? When did Imo's move in?

Yea it was just too much to have a historic building in that area, need to get rid of all of them and make sure it is all parking lot
It'll waste as much land as possible to keep the property taxes low. The FAR is 0.06

What are we even doing? I've lived in this neighborhood for 15 years and now we have a Domino's Pizza at an intersection with much more potential, the demo of 3224 S. Kingshighway for a drive through fast food joint (at least that's what I've heard) and now the demo of the Imo's on a site with potential for something more vertical only to get another car oriented development. Just ranting.
