I feel differently as the blues were never expected to make it to the playoffs let alone win the series so I didn’t expect them to win & when I saw they were up 3-1 I knew they were going to blow it & sure enough they did it’s a collapse however they were the 8th seed & not the number 1 seed either way they fought & did the unexpected & really hung with the number overall team in the league. Now if they were the number 1 overall team & did this then that would be an epic collapse but again they were an 8th seed team & 8th seed teams will do 8th seed things heck look at Colorado they virtually did they very same thing & they were the 4th seed I think. Either way great series a very disappointing way to go out but there’s next year & with the playoff experience who knows how good they’ll be. The Jets needed this series win more than the Blues. Just my perspective is all but I agree with the above.

Well that was a real kick in the gut - But I think the 1996 overtime loss with Gretz coughing up the puck at the blue line was worse. 1991 when we looked like world beaters with an amazing lineup losing to the lowly North Stars in round two was pretty bitter.  The 93 loss in round two to the Leafs was though to take as was 2016 conf finals loss to the Sharks where Backes broke down after the game.... but the absolute worst was the 2000 7 game meltdown "curse of the President's Trophy" loss to the Sharks - I still see Mike Ricci's ugly mug in my nightmares.  This team worked hard to get in to the playoffs on the last game they played, in Feb I would have said making the playoffs and a first round loss would be a great season - It was then a great season, it just ended with a gut punch.

It's called "Blues Hockey".  We all live with the mental marks.

No one expected them to win a cup this year, or even contend for playoffs.  More importantly got the young guys some playoff experience.  And with a battered team took the #1 team in the league to the brink.

Should they have won game 7? No doubt.  It's disappointing, but positive strides nevertheless.  Excited for next season.  We have solid prospects and a solid GM.  Ownership is willing to spend to the cap too.

I’m actually working with the enterprise center GM and alder Aldridge on Clark street improvements, safer pedestrian crossing at the garage and getting rid of those concrete jersey barriers and putting in bollards

^ Great to hear.  It's a worthy investment that I would assume is relatively inexpensive and could have a big perception impact.  Can't wait to see more soon!

How does putting the stadium at the very edge of a ridiculously sprawled region help anybody? It would be like putting a stadium in Warrenton, some people on the other side of the metro would have to drive over an hour to get there. Seems like a great way to lose your team to Canada again when people stop showing up

Well obviously the county just wants the economic benefits of having a sports arena and district. Presumably Fulton is uninterested in providing any tax incentives to build a hockey arena. Then maybe they'll bank on there being a decent amount of season ticket holders out there, similar to the Braves in Cobb County.

That's the problem with the Ottawa Senators and why they've been making pushes to leave their suburban fringe arena.

I also find the Florida Panthers arena interesting. Literally across the tollway from them is the start of the Everglades and 100 miles of nothing but swamp.

I think the Panthers are IN the Everglades and all of south Florida is nothing but swamp

Just asking: do you know if the Panthers arena sits on reclaimed land? It feels like its on a very slight rise (like 10 feet). Did they pick that spot or is it infill?

I don't know for a fact, but it's my understanding that pretty much everything south of Orlando is whatever the Everglades is.  Whether or not it's labeled THE Everglades is a different story.

There are some sugar farms down that way. But when you drive across South Florida from Fort Myers’s to Jupiter, say, either above or below Lake Okeechobee, be sure and fill up first. It’s like Kansas.
