Andy Strickland said STL was "in consideration" to be the host and back on December 1, the NHL had narrowed the search from 25 cities to 16 (10 in NA and 6 in Europe). So logically, St. Louis must be in that list of 10.

Montreal, Philadelphia, and Toronto are previous hosts.

Calgary and Edmonton were chosen to be North America's host cities, St. Louis unfortunately didn't make the cut.

Given the current political state I wonder if any American cities had a real chance?Smart play to say American cities were on the short list to host when in all actuality they would pick Canada.

Lots of interesting stuff in this article.

St. Louis was 4th in attendance for the Men's Basketball 1st and 2nd Round at over 51,200 in attendance, ahead of OKC, Portland, and San Diego.

The Sports Commission is planning on putting in bids for severl upcoming events, including more Men's Tournament games, a women's basketball regional, Frozen Four, and women's volleyball championship. They'll also be placing bids to host games for the Women's World Cup and Rugby World Cup in 2031.

The NCAA Wrestling championships are back here next year. The quick return is a make-good after the 2021 championships here were done with like 20% capacity

I had to laugh though at all the Barstool-like coverage of the shenanigans in Oklahoma City by Nebraska with reports that the arena and nearby bars ran out of beer/liquor
