Andy Strickland said STL was "in consideration" to be the host and back on December 1, the NHL had narrowed the search from 25 cities to 16 (10 in NA and 6 in Europe). So logically, St. Louis must be in that list of 10.

Montreal, Philadelphia, and Toronto are previous hosts.

Given the current political state I wonder if any American cities had a real chance?Smart play to say American cities were on the short list to host when in all actuality they would pick Canada.

I suppose that's a very real possibility.

Lots of interesting stuff in this article.

St. Louis was 4th in attendance for the Men's Basketball 1st and 2nd Round at over 51,200 in attendance, ahead of OKC, Portland, and San Diego.

The Sports Commission is planning on putting in bids for severl upcoming events, including more Men's Tournament games, a women's basketball regional, Frozen Four, and women's volleyball championship. They'll also be placing bids to host games for the Women's World Cup and Rugby World Cup in 2031.

^ I used to work for a company that chartered flights for pro teams in the late 90s. The Penguins were so broke back then that they were the only team that did not provide catered meals for their players/coaches. The equipment guys would stop off at a deli or fast food place on the way to the airport. For all the success they've had on the ice over the years, it's been quite the opposite in the owners booth.

Great draft! 2 strong selections at 11 and 16 and the McTavish trade for 15 & 29 was a nice pivot after Robertson declined the sign and trade.

We now have a great group of centers with Thomas, McMichael, McTavish(also plays left), Dvorsky(can also play wing) and Buchnevitz (also can play wing). Will be interesting to see if they think McTavish is a center moving forward or if he slots in for Kyrou on left.

With Carboneau potentially adding a wing next season we have a pretty impressive young group.
