STL based Blackline Design + Construction is planning to purchase 1001 Locust St. to redevelop it into 60 apartments.
The project's total cost is $16M and will include 5 studios, 42 one bedroom, and 13 two bedroom units, with rent ranging from $975 to $1,450. It will also include 8,400 sf of retail.
Amenities will include a fitness center, business center, and a lounge.
The 62k sf building only has one tenant that employs 6 people, who will look to relocate in the coming months.
They are not seeking tax abatements for the project. They plan to close on the building in May or June and begin construction immediately, estimated to take 12 to 14 months.
