1. The rendering seen above (isn't working for me) was a concept from several years ago to my understanding. The Mayor wrote: ↑Jan 22, 2019^ I'm not sure that's a rendering for what Killeen is proposing. They said theirs was in front of the Arch and their pictures are around the park over there. The rendering seems to show a development north of the Eads and MLK bridges.
This whole thing seems a bit odd to me. Are they creating this competition for architects to submit plans for this area, or did they win a competition to develop this area? The wording seems kind of weird. Either way, hope to see some concepts soon.
I agree.bwcrow1s wrote: ↑Jan 22, 2019I see what they're trying to do, but I feel like they have an uphill battle on getting buy-in. Imagine how difficult it is for a lot of these developers to either get financing that works, and the requirement of real demand, and that's already a challenge for our side of the river.
My guess is industrial of some sort.addxb2 wrote: ↑Aug 05, 202528 acres on East Riverfront under contract. Asking is/as $3.6M. With Route 3 extension under construction soon, hard to imagine what someone is envisioning with this.

Land for parking. Access to Metrolink. Could even have a view of the skyline from the lawn/some seats.Auggie wrote: ↑Aug 05, 2025Amphitheater is actually one of the best ideas for this area I think I've ever heard.
All of this. Perfect use of this land and would automatically become and iconic spot for a band to play.
Not to mention if the parking lots are grass it could be a perfect spot for a major music festival to set uprobertn42 wrote: ↑Aug 06, 2025All of this. Perfect use of this land and would automatically become and iconic spot for a band to play.
The accessibility is my biggest gripe about Hollywood. There's no public transit option and you're left sitting in an hour long plus line to get out of there. Not that there's that many acts they book out there that I'd love to see, but even if so, it's almost a nonstarter.
Good. It costs money to maintain a parking lot and pay parking attendants. No reason the people parking shouldn't be paying that. One of the biggest issues with car culture is the ease of parking and how it is almost always free.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Aug 11, 2025Not to mention they inexplicably started charging an arm and a leg to park there after decades of it being free.
