It should be burnt to a crisp at this point.

I was just at that Home Depot over the weekend. Building is a shell now, all windows busted out on back, looks very crispy inside.

If that's the same building, how did the first fire add a story to it?

Going to guess the intern running the socials got bad info? Definitely the same one.

This whole complex needs a redevelopment effort, along with the complex at Kingshighway/Chippewa. I always think of the unique TOD the site would present if the UP Metrolink route was ever moved forward.
Consolidated Chemical is still the owner of the building. Time to pry the property away. I’m okay with demo considering the issues it has caused and the mason work has been altered so much. Could have made a neat loft conversion at one time but I think you could do a better massing high quality construction at this site in its location.

Hello Everyone, I recently moved to south St. Louis. More specifically the tower grove area!
I like a lot of the old buildings and architecture! I am a history nerd so I am trying to learn some of this city’s history. can anyone help me out with a specific building across the imo’s pizza parking lot. I didn’t see an address on the building but it’s literally right across from imo’s on morganford. Also great neighborhood to be in! Lots of bars and restaurants! Great food!.

Would you know where I can ask on this site? Or to look for answers?
Do you mean the building with Tower Pub in it? The address is 4284 Humphrey. The Assessor's website says it was built in 1913.
You might try the library to find info. Also if a building is in a historic district, the application for the district might have info on a building.

It’s not tower pub, right across the street from imos. They are facing each other on morganford. I think the building address is 3223 or 3225…. One of the two.quincunx wrote: ↑Mar 06, 2025Do you mean the building with Tower Pub in it? The address is 4284 Humphrey. The Assessor's website says it was built in 1913.

Oh no you don't, not without a plan!
I finally found the fire damage. It's noticeable now. But there's no reason to allow demo without a solid plan and financing in place. Grr.
100k building permit application to add a second floor addition to 4233 Humphrey. Pop top!
$0 zoning-only building permit application to build a new home on the side lot. Infill!

BJ reports Garcia plans yoga studio, another restaurant, and parking for 3636 S Kingshighway. Better than a gas station, but was hoping for more.
$220k building permit application submitted for two townhomes at 4147-49 Connecticut
Surely it won't stay parking forever - that's a pretty massive lot.quincunx wrote: ↑May 03, 2025BJ reports Garcia plans yoga studio, another restaurant, and parking for 3636 S Kingshighway. Better than a gas station, but was hoping for more.
It is likely a multi phase plan for the lot is approximately 2 acres. I would not be surprised to see infill at some point.

^^ The TGCDC project should be moved over to the TGS thread. It was a gas station btw before falling into LRA hands, and is on the 2007 Google street view. It's been a favorite spot for people abandoning/storing vehicles so it'll be nice to get this back into an even more productive use than what was before.

Oh geez, my bad, I was thinking this was Chippewa and Morgan Ford in Bevo.STLrainbow wrote: ↑May 08, 2025^^ The TGCDC project should be moved over to the TGS thread. ^ It's a couple blocks north of the Chippewa intersection. (3800 blocks is the dividing line; Bevo and Dutchtown begin with the 3800 blocks below Chippewa)
Biz Journal also reported this past week that TGCDC was a recipient of funding for an affordable housing rehab of 3772 Chippewa in Dutchtown.
