Who cares? Just because you said something stupid without having a clue what’s going on in the background doesn’t mean now you get to be pissy and little b****

I don't have to know what's going on behind the scenes to know that no one (general City population) cares about the twitter account of the mayor.  They care about the new mayor fulfilling her campaign promises.  For what it is worth, I am plugged in just enough to know that the general feeling about you is that you are the little b****.

Regardless of what you think STLAPTS, it is very weird to see Cara Spencer's picture right above posts that are clearly about Jones, some of which are signed "Tishara O. Jones".

Why do you think all the different White House accounts are archived?

I agree this isn't a "big" issue, but it does appear pretty unprofessional and is very weird no matter how you look at at. There's no need to start trying to instigate arguments with people, especially a person who provides far more to this discussion board than you.

He obviously has an agenda with a lot of the information that he posts on this site.  A lot of it is also pretty misleading, in my opinion.   It is not in the spirit of this site.  DBs thin skin turned it into an argument.  Not my suggestion to move on.

You're right, he shouldn't have insulted you. But you also shouldn't have said "Jones lost, get over it." It was uncalled for and appeared to be trying to instigate and/or jab at him about how his preferred candidate lost. It's totally unnecessary, especially when it's regarding an actual issue like the Mayor's official X, formerly Twitter, account being transfered without any regard to the thousands of posts about the former Mayor still on there. You're right that it's not a "big" issue, but it's messy and unprofessional and just looks weird.

I also fully believe that he, and many others on here, have an agenda. His agenda is unabashedly to advocate for St. Louis. Nearly all of his posts on here and on X are to boost the city by spreading under-reported news or stats that tell a different story about St. Louis than the media narrative of murder capital and dying city.

So let's just stop arguing, you're right, the election is over. Cara Spencer is the mayor. There's no need to jab at DB about it and there's no need for DB to insult you. It's all unnecessary, especially if we can agree that a less messy social media presence would be best for St. Louis, even if it's a small issue. We all want what's best.

This topic should probably be shut down and a new one made for the new admin, policies and such anyway.

This is one of those awkward moments when I have to say "I agree with Auggie".

I do agree it makes sense to me make the account appear more neutral.

The point is that it was a big enough deal that not only did people care, it was actually changed in less than a day. For the better, I might add.

Not sure how many people expected them to actually change it. I didn't, for example.

Mayor Spencer ran on the idea that she knows what’s broken in city government and how to fix it. That message clearly connected with a lot of people, and it’s why many voted for her. But now that we’re two weeks into her administration, it’s fair to say that the follow-through hasn’t quite started yet

So far, there haven’t been any real permanent hires for key leadership jobs, the kind of roles that will actually get the work done. And some of the early responses to issues, like sinkhole calls from alders, haven’t exactly inspired confidence due to their initial inability to even block off the effected areas

It’s also a little confusing to see her forming new committees made up of business and community leaders to figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it, when she just spent a year saying she already knew those answers.

No one expects everything to change overnight, but there’s a difference between taking time to do things right and just not doing much. Hopefully, we see less time spent at happy hours and more focus on action soon.

It's been two weeks and the only problems I've seen have been created by those who supported Jones or benefited from her admins willingness to throw around money.

Also, Jones ran on knowing how to reverse decades of disinvestment. Was the problem bigger than her political statements or was she bad at the job?

She ran on the same platform in 2021. Let me check.... yep, still vacant.

Not trying to rehash the Jones admin or election, I just don't recall this forum so motivated to read social media tea leaves to measure up a new administrations first few weeks. She's entitled to replace staff, she's entitled to change course in active litigation/budgeting, she's entitled to tell the Pres of BOA where the line is.

North City saw $700,000,000 in building permits from 2021-2024

And from 2017-2020 it saw $303,000,000

So not sure what you’re point is, the payoff of that increased investment comes next. There is also another $100-150m in north city housing production programmed

Sure but when called about the Cass Sink hole, the staffs response probably shouldn’t be “oh we’re out drinking after a long week” (their week started at noon on Tuesday and ended Friday, entire 3.5 days)

I’m not dismissing the progress she made. I’m saying it was a big political statement similar to “back to basics” ran by Cara. I’m just confused why you’re suggesting Spencer is already under delivering after two weeks.

Weren’t a majority of those permit dollars the NGA?
