They have signage like that in the Central West End bus station. They display departure times for the busses. It's nice. I think they're relatively new.
Finally caught the new digital displays. Looks like a massive improvement. (The behind the scenes tech hasn’t been updated yet, hence the blank screen).

Carriages? Are you British? And no. They'd pretty quickly run into an A/C unit, pantograph, or they'd touch the overhead wire and get electrocuted to death.hebeters wrote: ↑Mar 11, 2024can this be done on top of the carriages?

Metro is saying the 8th and Pine station will reopen Dec 16.

Anyone know what exact improvements were made? New staircases and lighting, but I'd also assume the new gates and new wayfinding was also installed? Maybe not? I'm not in STL till next week so I can't really go look yet.

Yeah, I have noticed this. They never shared a rendering. They never showed progress. They didn’t even post pictures in the press release or blog post this week. Were the improvements that minor?

Looks nice and clean but no work on the new fare gates

+2

So I guess that means there will be another lengthy closure at some point in the next year or two?

Most likely not a closure, just in and out on same sideTim wrote: ↑Dec 16, 2024So I guess that means there will be another lengthy closure at some point in the next year or two?

It took Metro like two days to install the gates in two locations at the Central West End station.
I really don't think that's going to lead to a long closure -- and perhaps not one at all.

Glad to see the lovely puddle still stands at the bottom of the stairs. Gets fun when homeless people go down there to relieve themselves.dbInSouthCity wrote:Looks nice and clean but no work on the new fare gates
Had a coworker who took Metro daily. Slipped and fell into that same puddle of human waste. She went car shopping the next day.

yeah i nearly slipped and fell today, i sent to the bistate chief counsel as a heads up since its a liability issue for them
Easiest short-term solution would be to build a slightly elevated (2-3”) platform out of 2x4s with traction tape covering surface. Just big enough to cover the stone. It would let the water through to the “drain” without pooling. It’d cost about $1500.
She's gonna kill someone with a car if she's car shopping because she can't stay upright.addxb2 wrote: ↑Dec 16, 2024Glad to see the lovely puddle still stands at the bottom of the stairs. It's amazing how long that puddle remains no matter what. It's never not there.addxb2 wrote: ↑Dec 16, 2024Glad to see the lovely puddle still stands at the bottom of the stairs. She is an older woman and it’s water on top of basically granite. It’s a safety hazard.Auggie wrote:She's gonna kill someone with a car if she's car shopping because she can't stay upright.addxb2 wrote: ↑Dec 16, 2024Glad to see the lovely puddle still stands at the bottom of the stairs. Old person, can't even walk without falling, definitely should be driving.addxb2 wrote: ↑Dec 16, 2024She is an older woman and it’s water on top of basically granite. Old people in cars is a safety hazard far bigger than a puddle of water.
