Convention Center station to reopen June 2

PostJul 11, 2025#154

I've said it before on here, but Bi-State has royally ***** up this Union Station tunnel renovation. Like whoever signed off on this bullsh*t needs to be fired.

20 minute frequencies + delays is entirely not acceptable on high-demand nights. It is taking up to an hour to clear the Stadium station platforms after baseball games, and tonight they had it so ***** that they had a west-bound train pull into the east-bound platform from the west. They had people running across the bridge to try and catch it, and I guarantee that they had people who wanted to go east getting on.

Completely screwed up and hurting their own reputation.

Luckily, there's an easy fix for this: DON'T DO CONSTRUCTION ON HIGH DEMAND NIGHTS. Or at least pause it while the demand is high. Because this is just ridiculous, I have never seen a more screwed up ***** than what I just witnessed tonight.

Just Bi-State shooting themselves in the foot when nights like this should be their chance to show why you should take the train.

That's exactly what happened on the night of the Kendrick/SZA concert. It was an absolute mess. Not to mention the stations all smelled like urine and weed.

It's the exact thing that happened that night. Zero reason they should be doing construction on nights with high demand- such as a 50k+ concert + baseball.

Same sh*t, different night. For no reason at all, Bi-State decided that single-tracking through downtown on a night with 47k at Busch was a good idea.

They did actually run extra trains to help clear the platforms faster.... Still took nearly an hour.

At least tonight the delayed trains are still a clearly better option than the parking lots.

Pleasant surprise today was seeing next train times on the overhead signs at Grand. Metro finally joining nearly ever other train system and plenty of bus systems with modern amenities.
