If an eastern phase is announced SLU would stupid not to start planning how to rework Reinert Hall to better fit into the new context. Keep the tower but remove the base to extend Foundry Way all the way to Grand. Consolidate parking into a mixed use garage with another couple dorm towers on top. Throw in some classrooms or other student amenities. Have retail from Foundry Way spill out into a nice Grand streetwall.

Also anybody hear anything about Twisted Roots Brewing? I know the Foundry owns the building, but haven't seen much happen since that fire.

Went to the Foundry for lunch Monday.  Pleasantly surprised by visitor numbers.  Lots of earth getting moved at tower site.  Lots of infrastructure going in looks like.

Crane base in place for the apartments and office space. Food hall was packed tonight. Had some guys in from KC, they were impressed.

I went to the food hall on Thursday evening before hitting up Fresh Thyme, and it was pretty crowded. I was disappointed that the crepe place was closed. It was closed the last time I went, too, so I guess they just run out of supplies for dinner. Had some very overpriced shrimp and grits, though. I can't see myself going there regularly based on the cost of the food. Grateful for Fresh Thyme since they offer different varieties of food that Schnucks doesn't offer.

Fresh Thyme has turned into our local grocer.  We mixed Schnucks and Whole Foods previously, but I feel like Fresh Thyme has all the right goods and very competitive wine prices.

Same here. Wine selection not as good as Whole Foods, but better than the one at Schnucks Arsenal that we used to frequent. A good reason to go more often to the Wine Merchant though.

Is there an ETA on when this could be open to the public? I see their website says 2022

I've been for lunch  quite a few times now, and am slowly working my way through the vendors.  The food is uniformly good, although some places are pretty expensive for a fast casual set up.

One thing that would be great, though, is adding some greenery to the outdoor seating area on Foundry way.  It is all hardscaped areas, and in the summer will be super uninviting.  Even strategically placed large potted trees, or some restaurant planters that delineate space a little.

Talked to a food hall vendor who said biz is still good but not great.  A lot are complaining to Lawerence group or whatever it's called that it should stall TVs all around so that people stick around longer during sports games

For how long has it been "good but not great?"

It's summer break for SLU students, so they aren't going to get as much money from that crowd.

This area isn't going to realize its full potential until Phases 1 and 2 are completed, the Armory project is up and running, the student housing near the fire house is done, Target + residential wraps up, and the Brickline Greenway is underway. It would certainly help if the FPP/Grand intersection is fixed up and the city could have a solid artery going from the national park to Forest Park and beyond. Doing that would better connect the downtown sports stadiums, Chaifetz, Harris-Stowe, etc.

In the meantime, TVs would be a good solution.
