KMOV - Man who fled fatal hit-and-run crash near Ballpark Village receives suspended sentence

Cromwell pleaded guilty to the offense, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years. Cromwell served about 16 months in jail, but is serving five years of probation. If he violates probation he will be sent to prison to serve his seven-year sentence.

Court documents show Cromwell’s sentence comes with some stipulations. He cannot drive while on probation, he must get his GED, register for mental health-related classes and maintain employment.

Ridiculous how light the charges and thus possible sentence are if you kill someone with a car. Compare that to the shooting of a Cardinals fan during a robbery who was paralyzed as a result.

^ thats not right, i ran the data for 2000-2019 and that intersection had 4 fatal accidents with 4 deaths and another 3 injured

The street racing scourge finally caught up with me yesterday. Three cars were racing down Halls Ferry Road in Jennings, when one of them hit me nearly broadside. The other two kept going, of course.

I was incredibly lucky; the full-size delivery van I was driving was nearly folded in two. The EMTs estimated that the cars were going at least 90 MPH. I got 25 stitches and lots of cuts and bruises, but nothing broken or seriously damaged. I'll be sore for a while, but I'm OK.

This sh*t's gotta stop.

Yes. He wasn't able to get out of his car without help. I had the perverse satisfaction of listening to him scream in pain as they worked on his fractured leg down the hall in the ER.

I sincerely hope you are able to somehow extract the damages out of them. And I am deeply glad you're all right. It really does need to stop. I'll admit I enjoy my car, but there's no excuse for the sort of reckless disregard for everyone and everything else that his street racing scourge encourages. Be well.
