Yeah, all 400k people that live in St. Charles County across 600 sq miles would really create a good foundation for team support.
I too believe there exists a real possibility that Bob Blixt is majority owner of an STL team. And I hope he has the ballz to put that stadium in St, Chuck. The county and the city don’t deserve it.
Stuff like this is a dead give away that you’re insane. Like in what fantasy world do you live in where a former lawyer (Bob is no longer involved because a witness) would get an nfl team and have a say where it’s location when that lawyer/firm have zero say over how any settlement is allocated.
Blitz still is involved behind the scenes and is leading TeamSTL, according to Randy K. He just can’t be in the courtroom. And he and his group still stand to make 35% of payout and dictate the exact details of settlement. He also is the lawyer who back in 2016, when he and Peacock began their quest to save the Rams, stated “somehow, someway we’ll remain an NFL city.” So it seems his interest does have an emotional component to it.
Finally, if you listen to Jeff Rainford on Kilkoyne’s podcast he states that an owner could receive the team for free in a settlement but then have to build the stadium his or herself to have a stake in the team.
So the city, the county and the stadium group get their cash….that’s all they want anyway. Page and Jones have zero interest in sports.
An owner gets the expansion team. If Blixt and his group (I said he’d be majority owner, not the sole owner) get $4-$6B (based on your guys’ above estimates) they could afford to build a stadium.
And then throw in Parson’s recent support for possible state help….
Parson is NOT going to help fund something in the city and county. It would be in a red county that is one of the fastest growing counties in the Midwest and is open for business and has LAND.
Am I still insane? Or is the guy who bends over backwards to make excuses for crime in one of the worst downtowns in America insane???

Great comeback, loser. Well thought out. Typical libtard response when challenged. And to Seattle native I live in Shrewsbury.
DB, you’re such a loser. Why? Because you back downtown. Look at all the hundreds of millions of $$ poured into DT last 10 years to achieve this kkkrappp. Empty skyscrapers and hotels….empty, gorgeous buildings. It’s a loser and so are you.

Well that went unintelligent quick.

Well... not necessarily. If the League were to offer to build a brand new stadium but they would want the usual sea of parking that surrounds it, meaning that it would take up acres of terrible land use (i.e., concrete parking lots for as far as the eye can see), then yeah build it in St. Charles.

Listen you can freely go bet everything you own that no stadium for the nfl will ever be built in st.Charles. You have 2 options4 Downtown STL or next to Gateway Racetrack
If you want to get creative you can probably tunnel a walkway to the site from metrolink
As a city of St. Charles resident, I'd love the idea of an NFL stadium in downtown St. Louis if I thought it would be a positive development that would help revitalize that area. I guess it depends on what type of stadium is built. If it's a $3 billion dollar retractible roof stadium capable of being steadily occupied throughout the year, a downtown STL location could work. The problem is, most NFL stadiums are extremely anti-urban seas of parking that remain vacant dead zones for more than 90% of the year. I think an area like Maryland Heights next to Hollywood Casino Amphitheater that would involve shared parking lots could work. This is one of a few areas that could work for this type of use. Regardless, I'm curious if there is a taxable revenue distribution plan that would benefit the city, county, and state. In the unlikely scenario that a funded stadium and expansion team is offered to the region, we have the unique opportunity to force them to pay their appropriate share of taxes this time. To be honest, I'm not completely sure how the Port Authority works. Does anybody know if this could be an avenue to funnel tax revenue into the city even if the stadium is in the county?
There should be a rule on this forum that the use of the word "Libtard" results in a permaban or suspension. Can't say it is often (or ever) included in any kind of reasonable discourse.
I too believe there exists a real possibility that Bob Blixt is majority owner of an STL team. And I hope he has the ballz to put that stadium in St, Chuck. The county and the city don’t deserve it.
Why not? Placing it anywhere but our core continues to encourage sprawl.

Vernacular like this is a great indication we can all safely ignore any future posts without missing anything of consequence.
Some of this recent thread is sad. (Frankly, so is my contribution to this forum.) But alas. Here's my annual appeal for civil discourse.
Forums like this can be incredible drivers of creativity if people feel comfortable to share their opinions - even if those differ from your own, or (gasp), if that opinion comes from Saint Charles - which is, let us not forget, an important piece of the STL region and part/parcel to the whole region's path to success. So, let's continue to make this forum - and our city - a place of welcome. One post, one interaction at a time.
I wish the talk of spending hopes and/or money on a new NFL team would stop. Football is dying, the NFL is dying, and spending capital in any form to lure a professional sports team in a is ... well..it would ironically suit St. Louis so well. It would be just the perfect irony to blow any type of settlement on another perpetually losing proposition like a pro football team.
Isn’t it the residents of St Charles that trash St.Louis???? Anyways I would rather see St.Louis go all out and try to get as much out of this as they can use the possible expenditure on rebuilding our once fine city we all deserve a place that we can be proud of instead of all this trash talking back and forth which is unnecessary and doesn’t help our cause.

Long live Saint Louis.
There’s a bit of a difference in noting that St. Charles is not the heart of St. Louis and calling city residents libtards. In every social interaction I have with someone from west county or St. Charles county, I have to politely listen to them talk about how they’d never raise their children in somewhere as god forsaken as the city. I wish we’d stop with this suggestion that city residents are combative against St. Charles or West County when the entire history of St. Louis presents the opposite case.
In any case, interested to see how the region moves forward in the next day or so.
