I wouldn’t give it 0%. Florio is basically an NFL mouth piece so I think there’s at least something there to him saying STL tops the list for expansion. Not too much of a stretch to make a connection between those comments and this lawsuit.

Money sounds good though. I’d prefer that.

Settlement has to be sizable. More than anything, the NFL is trying to protect a brand here and we’ve got them over the barrel.

Of St. Louis getting an NFL team ever again? 0.0000%
Of the NFL setting for a signifiant amount? Very high.
I only care about the money. So thank you.

Hell yeah, give us the cash, skip the football.

Little would make me happier than seeing some of these scumbags squirming on the stand. This is great stuff.

Any excuse to put this out there again. Sterling work again by this guy. He can't keep his mouth shut and his hands off the keys.

Is this about the time they offer a settlement?

Who determines whether or not they agree to the settlement? Mayor? BOA? Sports Commission?

^ Let me rephrase that.  Who is the decision maker behind the STL case? If the NFL offers $$$$ to settle out of court vs going to trial, Who on the STL team makes that decision?  Who gets the money and oversees it?

If the NFL gives us an expansion team that can never leave, pays to upgrade the dome to NFL standards, and commits to hosting a Super Bowl/NFL draft here or two here I would be feeling good.

Albeit that would take a complete 180 in the NFLs attitude about what happened, probably would require Goodell to be sacrificed in order for it to be plausible.

Obviously from a civic perspective the city could probably do a lot more good with the billions of dollars directly in the coffers, but I’ve always been a sucker for NFL football and I would personally be thrilled to have another team in the city. It would be nice to be a four team city.

Another top of the brain spitball, wouldn’t mind seeing some settlement $$$ go toward securing an NBA franchise too.

I think there are 3 parties- St. Louis Regional Sports Authority, City and County (not sure if state of MO joined or if they are in the RSA portion). STL city and county leadership are hands off and won’t make any calls. It’s all RSA and their lawyers

I really think the people saying that they wouldn't want an NFL team back in St. Louis are kidding themselves.

If St. Louis could have an agreement carved in stone that they couldn't lose their team, I'd take one in a heartbeat.

Football is the most popular sport in America, and it's going to remain that for a long time. Having a team in that league creates exposure for the city and reaches certain individuals that baseball and hockey, and soccer, will not.

I think there's a sliding scale here... I don't want a team, because I don't think they'll gift a team to the RSA as a settlement.

I guess you could view it like this: The Bengals are worth $2B and have an operating income of $60M/year - they are the least valuable team in the league. If its a $2B cash settlement or a $2B NFL team, then I could see the NFL team being a net-positive over the long term... but again, I don't think that's an actual solution.

Stop it with the expansion team nonsense. In no scenario does that make any sense whatsoever.

Excited to hear what happens in 10 days.

^ Yeah I don't see an expansion team either.

My prediction, Stan goes to court, loses and damages are 100-250MM range. Stan immediately appeals then settles.

It won't just be Stan going to court, though; he and several of his buddies will be going to court.

The NFL is not going to want the financials for a fifth of their ownership group out there for the public to see.

So, you'd like the NFL to pay to set up a team here so they can keep making money?  How does St. Louis win in that settlement?

I think the NFL ever coming back here is out of the question

Not a peep in the LA TImes or from Sam Farmer on this, so much for journalism

Does anyone know what the total value of everything that the City/County/Sports Commission gave up over the years to the Rams?

Vincent Bonsignore was a huge water carrier for Kroenke and dumped on St. Louis all the time during the move. The only thing he liked was our food. He now writes for the Las Vegas Raiders but replied last night with some tepid tweets.

I'm not sure what Sam Farmer says because he's the only person who's ever blocked me on Twitter.

I think the judge helped ensure not having national coverage by having yesterday's hearing held off the docket.
